solder_guy Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 aerodynamics on land .. The American Eagle is aiming for 800 mph! What to do with a Lockheed F-104 Starfighter junker?? http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/21/science/21speed.html?_r=1&em
MHKflyer52 Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 That is just FLYING WAY TO CLOSE TO EARTH at those speeds for me with out wings. I wounder if they have an ejection seat built into it.
Hank Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I thought the Brits were going to upgrade Thrust II and give their own record another shot? I like Thrust II's approach better with the twin engines as opposed to a single cigar body. Either way 800mph on land is absolutely nuts. What is even more crazy is the world speed record on water: 317.596mph. Although Ken Warby is still alive many have died trying to beat it. Currently there are 3 boats being built that will try to break the record, and even Warby is building another boat.
