andrew7
A couple weeks ago I pulled the Seven out and went to see my neighbor about a float trip, while their I asked if he wanted to go out for a couple hours. He grabbed his camera and we headed out through the country. He took a few video clips and on some of the straights I did a slow wind up to redline. That sound is intoxicating. He loved the car. I told him sometime I'd like to go out in his car. Today was beautiful for his series 3 Graduate Spider. Its a worn and used car but its still a blast. We ran up to check a lake and he asked if I wanted to drive. I didn't push it but the handling and brakes were good. The engine was buzzy at times but willing. It was very comfortable, nice enough to take a trip with. The twisty roads flowed and the straights she cruised without a care. The shifter is odd, a long throw stick located near the dash not the floor, with a wide H pattern. I didn't realize how intense and harsh my car was to this point. The wind didn't beat you as hard either. Thanks to Kitcat for his pictures I am seriously looking at building a full top. I know many people here have Miatas and I thought about getting one but the styling leaves me cold, maybe if it was more aggressive or something. The new model looks better. The V8 swap kit from Monster Miata and swollen fenders might be interesting. I like the looks of the Triumphs, MGs, and Fiats but I know they are not as good as a Miata. Still, my 'vert choices are Mustang, Boxster and Alfa in that order. If you get the chance go ahead and cheat on your Seven, I'm glad I did. athens7
I owned a 1987 Alfa Spider Quadrifoglio for 3 years, a couple of cars ago. It ran exactly 1/2 the time! When it started, it was a fun tourer with a well balanced chassis (after the aftermarket frame reinforcement was installed, to combat the "flexible flyer" syndrome). The engine was no beast, but it was ok for the purpose. The shifter required a deliberate touch, as the synchros, especially 2nd gear, were crunchy right from the factory. Several Alfa styling features made their way onto the early Miatas-the door handles and the valve cover, to name 2. All in all, a really pleasant car to take on a sunny day cruise; just make sure you don't turn it off before you reach your destination! Mine was black with the red trimmed interior; it seems a pattern is developing...

You can add your choice of power, stock, turbo, supercharger Ford or Chevy LSx V8. These are very well done body kits. southwind25
Once upon a time, when i was young i thought an italian car would be sexy cool. i bought a FIAT X19. The car was up on jacks 4 hrs for every 1 hr on the road. Thats no joke. On the occasions when it ran, it was anemic, but handled great. The wheel bearings smelled like cod liver oil. Eventually i had to take it to the FIAT dealership to get the clutch replaced (i was a kid and didnt know how) and the mechanic gave me a list 4 pages long of things needed to be replaced. I gave up and replaced it with a TR4...which is another story.. we knicknamed the TR4 the mosquito fogger.. i love my se7en..
