gpennino
This is my Lotus seven clone. The project started some years ago and I finished it in 2009. The chassis is a clone of a Series 3 Lotus made in Argentina by the same factory that build seven's in the 70s under the Lotus rights. (Did you know there are orignal Lotus made in Argentina?) The car is powered by a fiat twin cam engine. This picture was taken during last weekend in a 1000 miles competition inside a kart circuit where we really enjoy the car and according to our stopwatch beat the time of every other car! http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/8822/img0678vz.jpg[/img]
Kitcat
Nice! 1000 miles on a kart track, wow! Miles? I thot everyone measured distance in kilos these days? Car looks great but you need a taller roll-over bar:). Mike
TheDingo8MyBaby
Beautiful looking 7! I met Richard Vignoles at cars and coffee down here in LA. I wish I had his contact info as I'm sure he'd love to see your car. Here's some more info on Lotus Argentina S.A.I.C&F http://www.lotus7register.co.uk/salot7.htm EDIT: I think I found Richard's e-mail. I'll forward him here. Car looks great but you need a taller roll-over bar:). Mike The whole race consist of a 1000 miles (not really 1000, it was 1300km) mainly on public roads. There were 2 special primes in kart tracks, but only a few laps!!! This kind of races are not about top speed, it is about average speed (almost always around 60 miles) where the winner is the one who is close to the indicated speed! I know I need a taller roll-over, because of the one fitted (too short) I was almost prohibited from racing this kart track!!! TheDingo8MyBaby
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/TheDingo8MyBaby/Lotusuruguay008.jpg I just shot off an e-mail to richard and he sent me this picture back. He seems to be a very friendly guy. His e-mail is richard@snagroup.com in case you be interested. It sounds like he makes frequent trips to Uruguay and will be there this Saturday as a matter of fact.
