scannon Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Tonight was the monthly meeting of Lotus Colorado (LOCO). The meeting was hosted by Ferrari of Denver (FOD) which is also a Lotus, Bentley and Lamborghini dealership. Not a normal venue for us as we usually meet at a restaurant. The Lotus rep for the western half of the country was there along with a number of the FOD staff. He mentioned that he had just finished 12,500 miles in one of two Lotus Evoras in the country visiting Lotus dealers in his region for show and tell events for the dealers and customers. He said the car performed flawlessly and he was on his own with no support vehicles. Free drinks and hors d'oeuvres were served along with a short presentation from the dealer and the Lotus rep. We also had a short business meeting for the club. Two representatives of the Ferrari club were there and invited us to their annual Enzo's Birthday Party, the first time they have ever invited another car club to join them. Before and after that we were allowed to wander around the show room and shop. The place was packed with cars to drool over. There were two used F355s up on lifts getting prepped for sale as used cars, $20k being spent on one and $22k on the other for engine out services, new clutches and a few other things. The manager explained that they sell only the very best used cars and this is why their prices are generally 10 - 20% above the market. My favorite car of the evening was the evil black Bentley Supersports. Twin turbo V-12 with 620 HP, all wheel drive. 0 - 60 in 3.7 seconds and 60 - 0 in 106 feet. Pretty impressive performance for a 5,000 lb car. It is the lightweight version of the coupe and doesn't have a back seat. The brakes are massive. Below are some pictures of the Bentley and some of the other cars in the showroom and shop. There was a 1927 Cadillac V-8 in the shop undergoing a complete restoration. Not something you would expect in a Ferrari dealership but we were told that one of their better Ferrari customers brings them one restoration project per year. There were a number of Rolls Royces also in their shop for maintenance and repairs even though they are not a Rolls dealer.
locost7018 Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 Wow, way out of my league. But cool none the least. Love the license plate. I'm sure if it had the room on it it would say "NO WIFE AND NO KIDS". That is the only way a guy could afford one of those. That Bentley is nice. I think the rotors are bigger in diameter than my 15" tires!!!! Russ
