Ruadhd2
Anybody got pics of headrests welded to a rollbar?
slomove
You may have to zoom in on the picture but I have a steel plate welded to the rollbar diagonal and the head rest is attached with screws to the plate: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_242PlvPtVpE/SnjziyKSSZI/AAAAAAAAAeo/UW-jO2a74ec/s800/P8040058.JPG

Ian7
and the head rest is attached with screws to the plate: http://lh6.ggpht.com/_242PlvPtVpE/SnjziyKSSZI/AAAAAAAAAeo/UW-jO2a74ec/s800/P8040058.JPG I always ask people who do this if they have ever punched the headrest REALLY hard to see if they feel the screws on their knuckles. Imagine the back of your head in a rear-end accident... (offered with the best of intentions, really!)
slomove
There is nothing to feel. The head rest consist of a 3/4" plywood back plate that is bolted to the said steel plate on the roll bar. Over that I have 3" of stacked anti-fatigue foam floor mats. This stuff is very resilient and could catch a sledge hammer impact. If any it may be a bit rigid.
