Volunteers Needed

The 31st annual Lotus Owners Gathering needs your help! It takes a lot of people to produce a LOG and this one is no exception. What is unique is that the sponsoring club - Lotus Ltd and the local hosting club - Southern Nevada Lotus Car Club are putting out a call for volunteers to all attendees.

Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet other Lotus enthusiasts from around the world, work with them and help make LOG 31 a fun and memorable event. With one notable exception It is too early to start signing up for specific tasks and shifts but it is not too early to think about how you can support the world’s greatest marquee and its fans. Typical jobs that need volunteers are:

• Stuffing goodie bags

• Placing signs

• Registration

• Setting up and packing away the autocross paraphernalia

• Directing cars at the choice car show

• Counting ballots for the peoples’ choice car show

• Unpacking trophies

• Distributing trophies

• Leading and sweeping scenic drives

• General gofer

• Chauffeuring special guest to and from the airport and other venues

The one job that needs volunteers to step up now is that of concours judge. Anyone that feels that they have extensive knowledge of Lotus cars that are 25 years old or older and is interested in becoming a judge for the formal concours d'elegance should express their interest as soon as possible. It takes a bit of time to be vetted and to become familiar with our judging procedures.

In addition to the above, if you have a special talent you would like to offer, an idea for an event or how to make this an even better event please contact me by PM.

As the planning for LOG progresses the request for volunteers will become more specific and we will be asking for people to step up and make a commitment. We won’t be asking for a great deal of time, physical or mental effort. At this point we (the hosts of LOG and the board members of Lotus Ltd) are asking that you consider volunteering some of your time and talent while attending LOG.

We got back last night. A fun event. Lots of Esprits, Elise/Exige, Elan +2. Unfortunately the Evora's (7 of them) vastly outnumbered the Se7ens. I had expected a big showing frome the SoCal crowd.

The weather did not help matters. I strongly considered driving my Seven over from SF but in the end better judgement prevailed and I took the Elise instead.
