locost7018
Julian D and I are going to put together a gathering in Northern Arkansas in June of 2011. Here is his post on LocostUSA announcing it. Please go to that site and respond if you are interested in coming to the event. Thanks Russ OK....I am going to jump into the deep end of the pool and raise my hand to co-host the 2011 Midwest Se7ens Gathering! (poor Russ is a glutton for punishment and has offered to help me out on this one!) We will be gathering in the GREAT driving mountains of north central Arkansas at the Hub motorcycle resort just outside of Harrison Ak. I checked their schedule online and they have the weekends of June 10-11-12 and June 24-25-26 open right now. Before I contact them to start sorting out the details I need to hear from everyone as to which weekend works best for the majority of us. (June is a good time of year as the weather doesn't start getting too hot, although all the rooms have A/C .) So start giving me some feed back and start spreading the work and saving the dates! I would like to start getting back to them by the end of Oct. so the weekends don't get book up! juliandz
Ok folk! Russ and I did the road trip thingy and ..We Are Pumped! to put it mildy! Two days of driving and we just scratched the surface of what's available! Russ is happy with "The Hub" and if you know Russ thats saying a lot!!(just kidding Russ..) One of the ideas that we discussed while we were down there is that the complex has a HUGE PARKING LOT that is hardly used. The owners of The Hub gave us the go ahead to set up an auto x if we can maybe get some help (hint hint). To that end we wondered what the group thought about extending the Gathering one more day to make it a 4 day event. We could start the event on June 9th (Thursday) or extend it to June 13th (Monday) . Our reasoning is that there are just too many Great roads to make runs on and we don't want to short change the oppertunity to have some great blats at the expense of putting on an Auto X . Please chime in with your thoughts and desires! Julian P.S. I will post tis elsewhere to cover out bases
locost7018
Several of you on this forum have expressed interest in having an event in the Ozarks so now here's your chance. These roads are great down here. Tight "S" curves and even tighter hair-pins. Our ears were popping from the elevation changes. We even saw a wild elk out in a field. This is a very popular area for motorcycles so you know the roads are great. And with the chance for our own private autocross what more could you ask for. So come on down (or up or over) for this event. Russ

locost7018
I figure 10-12 tops. It will take the better part of an hour to get all of us across. Assuming there ain't no damn tourists. Russ
locost7018
Well it is two months until the Midwest Se7ens Gathering. The dates are June 9-12, 2011. I hope everyone is done or almost done with their winter modifications. I for one have got a couple of more items on my “to do list” like install a new oil pump and build a cover for my open trailer. This gathering is going to be a lot of fun. Driving these twisty roads in northern Arkansas is the greatest. We are going to try to have two different groups on the blats. One that enjoys a spirited drive and one that likes a more relaxed drive. So if you have not signed up yet do so. You can do it by sending me or Julian D. a PM on this forum or an email. Also if you haven’t reserved your room or camping spot yet you need to do so soon because there are just a few spots left at the host hotel. If it is full you will have to get lodging 7 miles away in Harrison, Arkansas. Remember you do not have to have a Se7en to participate, just the desire to be with like minded friends and exchange ideas. We are looking forward to seeing all of you there. This WILL be the high point of your year.
