snookwheel Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 (edited) Had a great time at the SCCA Fl. State Solo Championships in Gainesville last Sunday. It was held on a mini road course at gaineville Raceway. I missed FTD by just over a tenth of a second. Good enough for 1st in EMod. [/url] I am loving the Goodyear R160 compound tires. Lots of grip. in car of same: Edited November 18, 2010 by snookwheel
scannon Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 Nicely driven! Congratulations. Are you going to the nationals?
snookwheel Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 Thanks, I did leave some time on the course though. More seat time.... I have always wanted to go to Nationals, maybe one of these years. I imagine I would get my hat handed to me in that field, but it would be fun to give it a shot! There is a certain Bugeye Sprite that has really dominated Emod for a while. A Stalker did place 3rd. this year. Scott
Boxologist Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 i'm trying to explain to a few fellow autoXers/ new core workers that Divisionals,NTs and Lincoln are not so much autoxing as more of a vacation/party. yes u will get beat badly(usually) ur first time, so u better have fun anyway. Its not like the stories are fake. i look forward to being on the r160s next year. Do u plan to head over to Axis vs Allies next month?
snookwheel Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 I won't be able to make the Axis vs. Allies next month, It sounds like a great time though. While we won't make it up there, we will get to attend a local Autox that day. It was amazing at what an improvement the R160's were over the c91 compound hankooks we were using. The hankooks were great once you could get enough heat in them. We ran an Enduro on the Hankooks, and by the third lap they were like glue! But it seems the Goodyears stick quicker. We also dropped to a 20" tire in front with the Goodyears. You won't be disappointed. I'm am going to try treating a couple heat cycled hankooks with formula vee and see it they kick sooner. I hate just chucking them with all the rubber that is left on them. Scott Scott
