A little help from my 7s friends (UTCC)

Recommended Posts

Hey Guys,

We are prepping Mojito to go to battle this coming July 22nd at the Grassroots Ultimate Track Car Challenge.

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/events/UTCC2011/

We will have either the big trailer or a garage at the event and we would love to have

some 7s at the event. We will be BBQing, drinking beer and telling tall tales about 7s... :)

And of course Racing. All are welcome. The roads to and from VIR are great fun.

We could also use your help bringing up our rankings on Car Domain. If you have time to

sign in and boost us a bit that would be great. Please make sure you rank us on the utcc category.

There is another 7 in the event so please help him out also

Thanks for you help.

Hopefully we have the kinks worked out and we won't be wielding her back togather

in the middle of the night like we had to at Buttonwillow... :)

Have you had that black beauty to the track lately?

I went to a "Driving School" (car insurance still applies) at Willow Springs last month. Their Streets of Willow track (they have 3 tracks there) is a tighter track and great for a beginner like me. They also had a wet skid pad and slalom to test the limits before going out on the track without creating a lot of drama. I had a blast and feel a lot more confident in the car now.

Drove to and from the track Sat/Sun... like the idea "run what you brung". Keeps me from getting as serious as you;)

Need a new helmet before the next trackday though.

Did you use your own car or did you use theirs? I think they are using Front wheel drive Toyotas stile. I'm headed out to Willow right after I Finnish typing and my 2 friends to arrive to check out a NASA event. I haven't been there for 15+ years. Love the track. My priorities & funds are finally changing.

This was a class to basically get to know your own car... which it does well. Was put on by the Alpha Romeo Club.

Sorry for high Jacking this thread - last post by me here -

I use to run with the alpha club back in the early 80s for cheap track time. Very good group of people no pressure and lots of time to try different suspension setups.

I have some pics from Willow Springs 5/21/11 - NASA event but don't know how to up load them - Stills of a V6 Stalker -

I spoke with a Stalker driver briefly - He was busy and seemed to be under a little duress so I didn't want to take up his time. His lines looked fine from my location -I watched though binoculars but didn't bring my stopwatch. The Stalker didn't seem to push too much on 8 - Visually estimated speed around 120 - 125MPH.

Track is very nice now. All holes filled & big rocks removed incase of off road incursions. The new short courses were well thought out. I was exceedingly pleased with the current condition of the facility. The track has come a very long way from when I frequented it.
