thegoat Posted June 21, 2011 Author Posted June 21, 2011 Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I will update on the progress when I make a choice. Taking the time to sit a few seems like good advice to me.
rnr Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 I don't currently have a trailer and haven't yet gotten comfortable with the risk of limping or worse back. AAA Gold membership is only $100 and will tow upto 200. I broke down on the way backl from Buttonwillow last year and they took me the final ~95 miles
pi7ot Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 My 10.5 year old Ultrashield Rally Sport 14" seat. Front bottom raised 1.5" and the Left side upper wing has been notched to clear the body. I have back saver padding under the cover. The spec Miata seats are easier to fit. m Btw, I would recommend that you obtain a higher roll bar. I have the standard one as pictured, but use a taller one from Birkin when I'm on the track.
slomove Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 No idea about racing seats but while you are at it, you may want to get a taller roll bar (or lower your butt with the new seat). FWIW I have the Roadster7 seats from Cobra, UK. Nice comfy seats that look good in a Seven with excellent side support but a bit on the heavy side and rather expensive with shipping. There are probably other reasonable options.
Klasik-69 Posted June 22, 2011 Posted June 22, 2011 I'm still trying to remember when I had a 32-33 inch Waist!! It was when we still had hair !!

There are probably other reasonable options. This winter's mods include a roll cage (among lots of other things). I agree that the stock roll bar on the Birkin is probably inadequate. The car is definitely a work in progress. Its first winter was assembly. Its second winter was getting rid of the gremlins from the assembly. This winter will be refinement and push towards a track focus. What a great platform the car is. You can really go many different directions with it.
