Stalker guys - question about pedals

Recommended Posts

I use to own a Birkin and although the footwell was narrow, the pedals were top mounted which allowed me to slip my left foot behind the clutch and brake pedals and extend my left leg straight out. This really cut down fatigue on long drives as I'm tall with a 36" inseam measurement. In fact, the Birkin footwell was so long that I couldn't touch the firewall with my foot when my seat was all the way back.

Years ago I sat in a Stalker and noticed the pedals were bottom mounted and I couldn't extend my leg when I wouldn't need to use the clutch (like cruising on the freeway). Can the pedals be top mounted during the build or does the Stalker layout prevent this? Where do you guys put your left leg when not using the clutch?

Thanks,

Stan

I installed a one inch master so now I can use the clutch as a dead peddle. Works great...but I saw one that had peddles mounted on the top... Took a bit of welding but easily doable.

I can not think of a reason they could not be top mounted. I just looked at mine and it seems doable. I usually just rest my foot on a dead pedal I mounted on the left side. Pedals are fully adjustable so 36" inseam should be no problem at all. I am a 30" inseam, and was more concerned about getting the pedals close enough.

Thanks GBOLT and HOTTTCAR, I'll assume then that it is possible to top mount the pedals.

Stan, does this mean your se7en-less phase is coming to an end?

Not soon John, but possibly in a year or two. I really want to build something myself this time. Before I bought my first Birkin I was on the Stalker kit waiting list. This was back in the early 2000's and I think the waiting time was 6 months or so. I got impatient and bought a local Birkin - no regrets as Birkins are great Sevens. If they made a larger "SV" sized Birkin I'd give it serious consideration!
