installing the stanchion fixed nut plate in the scuttle channel

I'm thinking of getting the Caterham part that has the fixed stanchion holding nuts and is installed in the scuttle channel to stiffen up the windshield mounting.

 

 

Quick question....The bolts that come up from the body to mount the scuttle and hold this new part...will those nuts fall out in behind my interior panel if I remove the existing body to scuttle nuts?

 

My interior panel is covered and I'd rather not drill out the rivets if I don't have to.

I just did the same install this spring. Remove the two nuts and lift out the existing metal bracket. The bolts remain in place. Insert the new retaining channels and reinstall the bolts.

 

It's a two minute job. I tried to install the new channels without removing the existing one at first. That won't work.
