Ian7 Posted August 6, 2011 Posted August 6, 2011 (edited) Latest doors with the elbow-room bulge built in to the lower half. Includes hinge pins. Not new, but seem very lightly used. No yellowing of 'windows' either. Haven't been drilled for mirrors that I can see. Sensible Offers + shipping from 31322 (essentially free shipping up the east coast late in August possible, as I know someone making the trip up I95) Edited August 7, 2011 by Ian7
XR4Bill Posted August 8, 2011 Posted August 8, 2011 Any chance of a few measurements regarding the doors? Bill.
Ian7 Posted August 11, 2011 Author Posted August 11, 2011 specifically? they're standard Caterham, not even sure the newer cars nor the SV's are different, no reason I can see for Caterham to have changed them. let me know what to measure... and just to be sure, you're aware these doors are 3000 miles away on the wrong side of the border? LOL
XR4Bill Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 I have a u-built and the owner mentioned it was slightly different in various places. Just trying to be sure of what my options are. Just wondering about the following, (if its possible) The length along the bottom of the door? The length along the top of the door? (along the bottom of the window.) The angle at the leading edge of the door? The angle at the trailing edge of the door? The height of the bottom part of the door? (from the bottom of the door to the bottom of the window) Bill.
Ian7 Posted August 13, 2011 Author Posted August 13, 2011 (edited) How about this, here's a photo of the door on the floor, those are 9" square tiles; flip-up hinge is along one line to define 'horizontal'; print and scale it.... :-) cheers (oh, turns out I lied, they're only 2650 miles away LOL) Edited August 13, 2011 by Ian7

Ian7 Posted August 16, 2011 Author Posted August 16, 2011 good chance of free, duty-free (nudge nudge, wink wink) shipping up to Ontario, but need to decide this week.
XR4Bill Posted August 17, 2011 Posted August 17, 2011 Hi Ian, a friend of mine has just purchased a Birken and he picks it up hopefully this weekend. He was told that the doors that are with the package are the same as the Caterham. He said that I could try the doors on my car to see how they fit. This would probably be the best way to go for me at the moment. I will try these out first to see how and if they fit my car. If in the meantime, you manage to sell them, no problem. cheers, Bill.
Ian7 Posted August 17, 2011 Author Posted August 17, 2011 no worries.... I will be very surprised if birkin and caterham doors are interchangable however.....
biquet1957 Posted August 28, 2011 Posted August 28, 2011 Hello from Belgium I tested relate to my birkin they are adaptable on the inferior part. On the other hand on the caterham the hinges are has outside and with two screws by hinges. Thus it would be necessary can be to buy two hinges caterham. On the other hand I did not test with the roof because I do not have any yet. Bye Peter
XR4Bill Posted September 20, 2011 Posted September 20, 2011 no worries.... I will be very surprised if birkin and caterham doors are interchangable however..... Hi Ian, sorry for the late reply regarding the doors. Ive had some issues with the Net etc. I tried the Birken doors and they will not fit. Thanks for the info and good luck with the sale. cheers, Bill.
