supersportsp
http://www.autoblog.com/2011/10/13/dyson-racing-to-distribute-caterham-lola-sp-300-r-in-u-s/ Interesting: "Intriguingly, the factory opted not to go with Caterham USA, the company that imports and distributes all manner of Sevens across these United States, but gave the SP/300.R contract to Dyson Racing." Clarified further down: "So why Dyson over Caterham USA? The SP/300.R is built around a Lola chassis, and few have the kind of experience with Lola that Dyson Racing does." Still seems odd that you wouldn't order it via Caterham USA and have Dyson do the set-up and delivery.
xflow7
Given that the brand has recently moved into top level racing with the acquisition by Tony Fernandes, this also begs the obvious question as to whether there is a tie-up at work here to eventually go sportscar racing with a Caterham-branded Lola campaigned by Dyson. Plus, with Cosworth's footprint in F1 apparently on the way down, there's a nice synergy there as well to allocate some Cosworth resources to a potential Ford-Cosworth program. Boxologist
Bigger question, what's the new masters opinion of Caterham USA. Yes, Dyson can do the job, but why possibly weaken the brand stateside when you have chance to strengthen it.
danilo
Weakening the Brand OR strengthening it?? Personally I haven't seen much activity from any North American 'sales' agents at all. Nobody dumps a winning effort.
