R1 Seven
Back to the track again this weekend. This time to VIR North Course. I got to do my first time trial with the car on Saturday and had a blast. It was pretty cold that day and my hard compound Hankooks did not like it at all. It took several laps to get enough heat in them to sort of start working. This thing is going to be crazy once fully sorted and on some slicks... http://www.usa7s.com/aspnetforum/images/emoticons/reddevil.gif >VIR North TT

Al N.
Jeff-That lap you have posted with the "dubbed" soundtrack was posted over on the USA@se7ens.net. Pretty funny. Can you dub all of the in car stuff from 7-7-7?:jester: http://www.project-seven.goof.com/videos/FastestVIR.wmv
R1 Seven
Al, I guess I should get on that USA Se7ens list...is it just a mailing list? There is a story to that video. A friend of mine kept doing his imitation of what my car sounded like and we were laughing at it all day. We kept saying that we needed to get an audio clip of it. On Saturday night we had been celebrating with a few adult beverages and were hanging out at the trailer. It hit me that I had the video camera and could film him doing the sound and get the audio off of that. I get the camera out and start filming when another friend starts talking him though a lap. Here is that original video: http://www.project-seven.goof.com/videos/AJGregVIR.wmv During the week afterwards I thought it would be funny to dub over a lap of the track with thier "lap". I figured it would take a lot of time but would be worth it. Once I started working though it, it became impossibly easy. Basically I just ran the video at double speed and only took it back to normal speed at a couple of well timed locations. I spent maybe 45 mins total making the video. Based on that, we determined that visualizing a lap while intoxicated makes you go twice as fast for some reason... :jester:
MHKflyer52
That is a hoot. You have some good friends their and a video that you will always have a good laugh at in years to come.
Al N.
Al, I guess I should get on that USA Se7ens list...is it just a mailing list? Jeff- Here is the link to sign up for a number of lists coordinated through se7ens.net...I used to subscribe to a few, but now just do the USA one. And in truth, posts have died down over there as USA7s.com has grown...some things are more easily discussed/communicated via a forum vs. a list-serv. There's obviously a place for both. http://mailman.se7ens.net/mailman/listinfo Thanks for sharing the backstory to your video...it was truly hilarious and I even shared it with my wife...who once again rolled her eyes and said something to the effect of "You Se7en guys are all little comedians, aren't you..." -A
R1 Seven
Gald your wife enjoyed it, Al. I don't think it is just limited to the Se7en crowd. Most of my Roadrace/Autocross/Track buddies are a bunch of hams. We really like to have a good time on the weekends. One of these days, I am going to write up the story and post the videos on my web page for posterity. I signed up for the list. Although, just like the Yahoo Groups, I am not a huge fan of the mailing lists. Forums are just so much more useful. If a list has good info/folks on it, then I will reluctantly sign up... It's maybe a little Caterham/Birkin centric for you, IMHO...but does have some good folks on it, after all, that's where many of the folks here first met. Of course, you can always unsub.
