Contour cameras

I recently got a slightly used ContourGPS. Happy with the camera, but the attachments they have for the railing system have some slop that results in a slightly shaky video.

 

A small segment of my commute to work... I just did a screen capture of their storyteller software without sound.

I have the older Contour HD and am a fan. I use the camera mount onto my rollcage and get pretty stable video. The following is from the reigning DSP champion driving my Ultralite

Do you have any play in the part that slides onto the rails?

 

The rails are solid, but there's some excess play between the plastic part and the aluminum rails. My camera came with several of the plastic mounts, most of them new still in the bag, and they all have some play.

I contacted their support and they'll ship me a newer design :thumbs:

 

I like your mount though. I'll try one of those.

The universal mount was one of the several mounts that came in mine. The only other mount I use is the flat surface mount on my helmet and that has no play either. If all your mounts are having issues then it might be a case of the camera unit itself being out of spec.

apparently the mounts I have had a known problem. They'll replace them free of charge
