I've had this sitting in storage since I went back to my slightly modified stock tank back in April of 2009. I switched back in an attempt to get rid of the fuel smell that would exist when my Birkin was parked in the garage. Switching back to the stock tank didn't get rid of the smell, so I modified the vent line routing which helped but didn't completely get rid of the smell. I can only assume it's the braided fuel hose that's causing the fuel smell problem. Here's a link to my thread on the problem: http://usa7s.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2335&highlight=fuel+cell+smell

So I took the fuel cell apart and could not find any evidence of a fuel leak or any pin holes in the bladder. The foam blocks were flushed with water and left to dry outside and showed no deterioration. It was reassembled with new gaskets and nylon sealing washers and has been in storage ever since. The cell has only had premium fuel in it from 9/07 till I took it apart in 3/09, a total of 19 months. I also rotated the pick-up in the surge tank to pick up fuel at the lowest point in the cell....should give more useable capacity than I experienced when I first filled it up. The can is .080" aluminum, has the above mentioned internal surge tank, AN6 fittings, a bulkhead fitting and custom return line installed in the fill plate, and an adjustable VDO fuel gauge compatible sending unit.

This could possibly be used in other applications or if you're building a Locost. Here are the dimensions of the can.

Capacity: appr 10 gallons

OA Length: 31.58"

Height of Rear Wall: 9.173"

Height of Front Wall: 11.66"

Width of Side-Bottom: 9.075"

Width of Side-Top: 7.362"

Also included is the little 90 degree AN6 3/8" SS line that I used to hook up to my pre-filter.

Note: Last photo shows fuel cell installed in car but with return line temporarily hooked up to vent valve to prevent FOD.

The fuel cell is spoken for. If the deal falls through I'll repost.
