darrell
I have a older Westfield Seven I am working on ( has a Kent Crossflow in it ) and have a chance to pick up a clean low mileage GSXR 1000 engine with all accy's ....Has anyone ever put one of these in a Seven ? IT seems R1's and Hayabusa's are the favorites ...Just wondering !
locost7018
Look at the British Locost Builders site http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk. Plenty of them on there. Russ
Fimi 7
Actually the GSXR 1000 and the Hayabusa share almost the exact same parts, its just a bigger bore. Meaning either will work. I am at present running a Hayabusa, ended up choosing that over the 1000 for the minor jump in torque. Alot of the guys in the UK run the 1000 to meet a regulatory racing requirement, where they are competing with other sevens running the R1 or Honda CBR 9XX engines. It works. slngsht
I just saw a GSXR 1000 and a Busa motor side by side last week. One of my friends is swapping from a GSXR 1000 to a Busa motor in his Radical SR3. a lot of the intake / exhaust parts fit, but man, the busa motor is much bigger
motomoron
I wish I had a Radical SR3! Actually it's a really overweight Radical Clubsport, one of the early cars. In any case, the GSXR1000 is significantly smaller than the Hayabusa lump. Lighter too. In the event you may be interested, I'm selling off all my 1000 stuff. I'll post a classified ad here...
