Guest Terry Posted October 21, 2012 Posted October 21, 2012 This is a great product for the serious Blatter, got mine yesterday. Also has option to talk to other cars. http://www.starcom1.com/usa_price.htm
MoPho Posted October 26, 2012 Posted October 26, 2012 I had originally purchased a similar system from Motocomm here in the US, it is a pretty decent intercom system and inexpensive. The problem with them and the Starcom (?- it appears from the pictures) is that they have multi-pin connectors which break easily. I had used my intercom 5 times and broke the connectors 3 times. The company was good about sending me new ones but I gave up and bought a Terraphone rally intercom which is a lot more robust using a 1/4 RCA jack. In hindsight I should have just spent the extra money and bought the Peltor system which is the what all the WRC teams use, it is a lot nicer set up. I use mine with helmets since I run an aeroscreen but to note the headsets are illegal to be driving with (at least in the US)
Croc Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 .....note the headsets are illegal to be driving with (at least in the US) Is that just CA or all states? I was not aware of this until now. Would also make wearing the little foam ear plugs illegal?
MoPho Posted October 27, 2012 Posted October 27, 2012 Actually it appears I am not completely correct about that, I thought it was all states. http://lifehacker.com/5902802/ever-wonder-if-its-actually-legal-to-wear-headphones-when-youre-driving
