I came across this car from Factory 5 in the latest issue of Road & Track . It is a Subaru based mid engine design, 0-60 in 3.8 and 1.12G for the track special and the street version should be potent and looks good to me. $15k for the street and $25k for the track. Seems like a lot of car for the $. The magazine article is much better than what R&T has online but here is the link and one for factory 5 http://www.roadandtrack.com/first-drive-factory-five-racing-818-r-track-day https://www.factoryfive.com/kits/project-818/

What kind of reputation does the company have?

Mike,

Having owned and/or built/rebuilt 17 FFR's (and brokered another 30+), I can tell you the company has an excellent reputation. Dave Smith (owner) is a down to earth real car guy with a stellar business reputation. The 818 project was a ground up, built from scratch idea that has taken it's sweet time to come to fruition. I've be staring at donor cars for quite some time for this one, waiting to see how my back issues pan out before I send my deposit....

PS: If you ever get the chance to meet Dave Smith, ask him the following: "where is mrmustangs FFR 289FIA" (it's a semi inside joke between the two of us that spans 10+ years, countless open house pranks, and 1,000's of people such as yourself ).
