Locost 5.0 Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Does anyone have a picture or drawing on how Caterham attaches the sway bar on the upper a arm? I have been trying to a good picture of this, but they always have a rubber boot over the connection. Â Thanks, Rod
stevet Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Rod, I don't have a picture, but could photocopy the fitting instructions from the assembly guide and post them if that helps?
Locost 5.0 Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 Maybe you could just describe what type of joint it is. Just trying to figure how they are allowing movement, so it isn't binding the a-arms movement. I like the way the Caterham sway bar looks, and want to copy the design.... will the instruction help? Â Rod Â
bsimon Posted June 3, 2007 Posted June 3, 2007 Rod, Â There is a plastic ball screwed to the end of the ARB. The ball fits into a tubular housing welded to the upper A-arm. Since the ball is free to slide axially within the tube, it gives length compliance as well as radial compliance to the bar end. Â Â
Locost 5.0 Posted June 3, 2007 Author Posted June 3, 2007 Thanks Bob, Â That's what I wanted to know. Â Rod
