  1. Sounds great to me! I've heard there was another 7 around HB. In fact, there is a tuner over off Gothard / Warner that specializes in the S2K engines that I'd like to visit!
  2. This has to be the best one yet! My family is partial to, "Bun Rbr"
  3. Story of my life... day late, dollar short. I'll have to keep an eye on CCC site.
  4. California is reissuing some older style license plates next year so long as they hit their minimum order. With that in mind, I'm looking at the plate with 60's style license plate with the black background with yellow letters as my Ultralite is black. I'm looking for some ideas to personalize the plate... Any of you creative types out there care to help a brother out? Any suggestion, is a good suggestion! Funny etc... Thanks!
  5. I realize this started as an LA thread, then to a No Cal thread, but does anyone meet in Orange County? I've been to C&C a few times and haven't seen another 7 at all!
  6. Manshoon, I registered mine through the Santa Ana DMV office after working with their manager. While in the process, I was advised that the San Clemente Dmv office was the "Guru" with the SB100 process as there is a Cobra Manufacturer near that office. Hope it helps!
  7. Manshoon, For me, the CHP did a VIN verification only. I went down to the inspecting office and spoke with the inspecting officer prior to purchasing my S2K. They're going to ensure none of the numbers that went into building your car are stolen. They didn't look at anything else such as lighting, braking, gauges or anything like that. For what it's worth, I imported mine in from Indiana where it was registered and titled. I made the appointment with the CHP and was literally at the station for 15 minutes.
  8. Ok, thanks. Drop me a PM and we'll make it over there. Good luck on the new mods!
  9. When are you headed back over to C&C Nick? Let me know and I'll bring out the Ultralite!
  10. I'm in Orange County if you're in the area.
  11. Looks great Nick, C & C Irvine? I was there a couple of weeks ago with my S2K. Good luck with the registration process. If you have any questions let me know. I'm in Orange.
  12. MCA, Go to the Santa Ana CHP station on Santa Clara (Off of Tustin Ave) The inspector is a cool guy named Habegger and he's a motor head. He inspected my S2K in April. Other inspectors go to him as the answer man here in OC. All he is going to do is a VIN Verification and sign off the paperwork. Brake and light inspections vary in price from location to location. One upside, the BAR is over at Golden West College!
  13. You do not need to take the car to the DMV at any time. Once you get your sequence #, get a one day moving permit which allows you to drive the car to the CHP for the VIN Verification. The DMV specifically did not put a date on the one day permit allowing you to do it on your own time. I didn't fill out the date at all and drove it to both the CHP and the BAR. So, don't drive to the DMV. Drive to CHP and BAR. After BAR, return to DMV with completed paperwork and apply license plates! Good Luck!
  14. Dana Point in South Orange County specializes in SB 100 vehicles. There are a few Cobra manufactures down there and they process them frequently. The brake and light inspection is a pain in the rear as a reverse light must be hooked up and you must have a functional parking brake. The BAR was the easiest part of the process. They just looked at the car and asked how I wanted to have the car smoked. "BY BODYSTYLE, SIR!" And when asked, I said it was a replica of a 62 Lotus 7. He agreed and I didn't have to pay a single cent. :auto:
  15. Below is a link to the cheat sheet that I used and it was pretty accurate. Some minor stuff has changed, but for the most part is was spot on. http://home.thegrid.net/~ffr4776/SB100_Registration.pdf
