  17. Thanks guys for putting my HP numbers in perspective. I was always referring to crank HP and now seem to remember the local market might have gotten close to 135hp with higher octane fuel and that the US cars were detuned to close to 125hp. Has anyone heard that tale? I am really happy with the HP I have now and whatever I do to increase it, even by 20 HP will make me even happier Thanks for all the advise, would love to hear what other owners have done to bump up engines from stock
  18. I was lucky enough to run the Mille 4 times, 1996, 1998, 2001 and 2003. Finished them all too which was our goal. In 2002 I ran the Targa Florio in Sicily which had incredible runs on the old Madonoe Mountain Circuit. Going to spectate the Mille is fun too, you can see the cars fill the squares for tech in the afternoon, see the Thurday night start that night, drive in the morning to an Umbrian city like Gubbio and sit in a road side bar and watch the cars go by feet away, same the next day in Tuscany and make it back to Brescia for the finish that Saturday night, friends have done it too. For the driver, 48 hours start to finish with a few hours sleep two nights I ran Monterey from 1995 to 2006, year 2000 the best at it was the Maserati year and we had 5 OSCA's there. I retired the OSCA after 2006, can't afford to hurt it and cannot seem to drive less than 10 tenths. We go to Monterey every year, stay a week in our trailer in Moss Landing and take in all the events. Take Care, john
  19. Hi guys I just went through the Factory build manual that came with my car which included engine specs The 1700 AX block SS motors as follows: HP. 135 at 6,000 RPMs Torque 122 at 4,500 RPMs Comp ratio. 9.75:1 Formula Ford kent engines getting 110 HP with downdraft Weber and mostly stock parts I could be wrong but don't see how this engine could be putting out 95 HP It's never been dynoed maybe should start there John
  20. Hi Croc OSCA's are the result of the Maserati brothers selling their company and their name and setting out on their own in 1948, there after they built about 100 coach built racers over a ten year period winning their class in many prestigious international races including first OA in 1954 Sebring 12 hour The engine has a 1500cc steel block with twin cam, twin plug aluminum head. Twin Weber DCO3 40mm carbs with about 135 HP engine The car is aluminum bodied and weight 1200 lbs There is an interesting article if you want to read the history of the marque...Google OSCA Automobile Quarterly Lawrence Crain
