  1. I finished a contract and want to return a blackberry phone, how can I delete all my personal info?
  2. I've got a couple new helmets but do not find them as warm. Mine is Russian from the early 80's and I figured if it kept a comrade warm in a MIG at 20,000 feet it would keep me warm in a Seven at ground level and it does:) It has mic and headphone cables and a buddy in the audio game has offered to update the phones and change the cable to fit an iPod but my Seven is music enough:driving:
  3. Ata boy!
  4. Search e-bay "Leather Aviators Helmet"
  5. How so, mine look the same except for the difference between front and rear. I found a support link and e-mailed them I'll let you know what result I get.
  6. Mine is a 76 Caterham with Smiths gauges except for the gas gauge which was replaced with an AC gauge. My tank is 8 Imp gallons or 36+ litres. I keep saying I will get my tank cleaned as my inline glass (Mr Gasket type) filter collects what looks like flakes of black paint, I'll remember not to have it coated. Someone told me there is a fixed filter in the tank, perhaps that has been plugged with the sealant goop. Have you tried Redline Components for a tank, I have found them to be quick and cooperative to e-mails? Mick Lincoln Good luck.
  7. My longest trek so far has been 4.5 hours and I did not find the noise uncomfortable, maybe because my exhaust exits at the rear rather than the side or I'm already loosing my hearing. But I must admit I do prefer my cold weather driving when I wear my sheepskin lined, leather flyers helmet. That's because all I can hear is a subdued but clean note of the exhaust. Then the first time we get good weather and I drive with a naked head it sounds like a bucket of bolts as I get to hear all the squeaks, rattles and clunks! http://www.pbase.com/sarrana/image/129589255/medium.jpg
  8. I bought mini/micro receiver, ESC and a low profile servo. Trying to stay with the "Add Lightness" theme. Just waiting for a couple batteries, no one had them in stock. Still trying to figure out how to get a clear body kit out of Yokomo. Also disappointed about wheel size, not to much choice. I wanted to find a 5 spoke similar to my Revolutions.
  9. "What If We Could Engineer Feeling" Anyone else get the same thoughts as I do each time I see this ad. Thoughts like "you are only 57 years too late, Colin Chapman been there, done that"
  10. You are correct Paul I won't argue the point. However I'm 64 now and there's a good chance getting in & out of my Seven will prove difficult in another 10 to 15 years so a little bit of salt dust is not going to affect my enjoyment now. Add that to the fact 30+ years of my TwinCam perspiring oil most of which is spread finely through the frame and underside is added protection. So when the sun shines it's Blat time!
  11. Not sure where "Blat" originated but it's the kind of sound that ricochets back at you during a spirited drive down a tight country lane particularly in the UK, must be the embankments and hedgerows
  12. Thanks for the thought. I try not to make plans too far in advance when it comes to my Seven. A 38 year old car with a 50 year old drive train tends to make up it's own mind when and where we go. If the old bucket of bolts is running well I would be interested as I like the old time tracks.
  13. well in Southern Ontario, Canada it has because I took the Seven for a quick blat. A hair above freezing but sunny. A little chilly around the lug oles, I got showered in sand and gravel and the rear end was a little lively but I'm not complaining. Man that first run feels so good, I fell in love all over again. Here's to another 7 months of fun! :driving:
  14. Yes thank you for sharing. Once again it shows how interesting our cars are.
  15. First thing I thought on seeing those bikes was modern day Ariel Arrow
  16. My 76 Caterham has always been badged Lotus and it's even registered as a Lotus on the ownership.
  17. Brushless will make it a donut machine
  18. Banzai got back to me with a negative on the body
  19. I'm away on business and had no time to have a close look before I left but it appears components like ESC and receiver will have to be small or a combined unit so take the chassis when you go to your local hobby store.
  20. This is funny, a short while back I had been out in the Seven for a few hours on a cool day and by coincidence a few days later I got a cold. "It's driving that silly car with no roof, doors and windows" says my wife. "Don't Lotus make a proper car with doors and a roof?" I tell her about the Elise along with price. With out any real delay she says, "OK so buy one" For a few seconds I think I'm the luckiest guy in the world, then she adds "BUT you have to get rid of the other one!" So no Elise for me because the Seven is going nowhere!
  21. You, me and many others I'd guess
  22. The car's 57 years seems to be matched by the age gap of it's owners, not too many marques have been around that long, even less could brag such diverse ownership and certainly none have influenced so many other vehicles to be built.
  23. That's why I said I'd drive until "I can't get in it". Told the wife when I can't get out it's likely I'm dead so save on a coffin and just ask them to dig the hole a little wider and roll me in
  24. I had mine and had a choice, a Seven half my age or a woman half my age, luckily I could not afford the divorce and now my wife, my Seven and I are very happy
  25. I'll be 64 1st week of March and first fell in love with Lotus when I got a ride in a heavly tracked Lotus 6 with a fire pump engine and most important an all "aluminium" body. Guess I'm a member of the Tom Club because that was in 1961 when I was 11, forward 47 years and I purchased my Caterham. I will drive it any distance for as long as I can still climb in it and I will drive it in temps down to -10º ç or 14º F. with zero weather equipment, I just dress silly:)
