Funny. You had plenty of erroneous advice to give when my Series 1 was on BAT.

In your view, on what circuits are relays mandatory? Thanks in advance

I have a 1981 Rotus with Toyota 2TC engine. Looking for a source for headers.

I've listed a single 45 DCOE carburetor on Ebay. Spanish manufacture. Removed from a 1275 BMC race engine. $350 buy it now.

Compared parts lists. Keep in mind mine is a 1981. The above list is dated 1991. The only differences in my list are the addition of the following: Front turn signal Harley Davidson (built into rear view mirrors) Speedo cable 83710-29345 Spring Wrapped Brake Hoses (Toyo) 90947-02317-86 Stop Light Switch (Big A) 325-6 US14 std Radiator 21" Mazda

As far as the parts list; my list overlaps but is not the same. I'll compare and come up with one complete list. As to the toggles; Rob (the previous owner) showed me they all worked but I wasn't taking notes. I'll check them, figure it out and get back. I have a set of 40DCOE Webers coming tomorrow that I want to install. Anybody want a set of Mikunis?

@Marek I have a list of virtually all components and their stock numbers,

Is the Rotus group active? I just purchased one with the 2TG engine.

Thanks. Probably best in the long run to just get a new complete kit. Cheers

Not sure what you mean about not working on a 7. They will need to be rejetted regardless of the application. I have a seven clone with a 2000cc Toyota TGE engine.

Please respond. Need to know if still available. Thanks.
-
I'll take them if you still got. Don Freeman

My Seven has 2- 40PHH Mikuni Solex sidedrafts. Once choke is reduced, the engine dies. Cannot maintain RPM less than 2000 RPM. Carbs were rebuilt recently. Tempted to go to Webers. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance. Donnie

Thanks. Already got a car in mind. Just nervous about hitting the "BID" button.

Considering importing a 7 from Canada that was once registered in the US. Picking it up myself would be difficult. Anyone with experience have any tips. Thanks.

I have been corresponding with a consignor in Montgomery, AL. about a 1994 Caterham he has listed for $17,850. Hmmmm. Further investigation found that the car, then located in Las Vegas, listed on BAT in 12/22 and did not meet reserve at $28,000. With the help of Google I found the same car for sale in MInnesota. Chassis number is SDKRDKANSQ0301600. Buyer beware!!!

1960 Lotus Seven Series 1. Rebuilt BMC 1275 with .02” overbore to increase it to 1300cc. Documentation of engine rebuild is in the photo gallery. Rebuilt rib case gearbox. Rebuilt 1.5 inch SU carburetors. Less than 500 miles on both. This is by no means a “Restoration”. Purchased in December, 2020, it had served as a race car at least most of its life and the body shows signs of it (patina?) As a race car it had been stripped of all unnecessary equipment. Wings, windshield, dynamo, etc. were removed. Unfortunately, the Commission number had also been removed . Fortunately, the frame (chassis) number (L563/763) was permanently etched into the frame and certifies that, in deed, it is a Series 1 Seven. The chassis number was traced to the Progress Chassis Company, date of manufacture between September, 1959 and October, 1960. Since Lotus did not cross reference chassis and Commission numbers the commission number remains a mystery. A letter from The Historic Lotus Register concerning this is included in the photo gallery At some point in it's life, a Lotus 26 (Elan) independent rear was installed in favor of the solid axle. Since the Elan did not begin production until 1962 it is unlikely that the installation was a factory job. The conversion none the less appears professionally done. The IRS conversion extended the rear tread by about 3 inches and the wheelbase by the same amount. A gallery photo shows the extension of the rear wings . In order to return the car to the street I had a red vinyl interior installed, produced a dashboard with all needed instruments including a GPS speedometer, installed a GM alternator, installed headlamps, tail lamps, stop lamps, and license plate bracket and lamp.I then rewired the complete car, installed 14” VTO alloy wheels with Vridrstein tires, Caterham front wings and aftermarket rear aluminum wings, installed 5-3/4 inch headlights, parking lights, rear running lights and stop lights. Also included are race tires mounted on wire wheels and complete Weber 45DCOE carburetor and manifold. Car won first in class at Lotus Owners Gathering in Knoxville last month. Encourage inspection and test drive. Please call if additional photos are desired. $25,000 or a trade for an interesting (British) project would be considered.
