  1. Slngsht Have not received the calendar as yet. Checked my email address and its ok.:willy: Don
  2. Actually, I also had a 3 vertabre cervical fusion last June. Recovered completely in about 3 weeks. The lumbar fusion is much more invasive and the recovery much longer. It's been 4 weeks and, although I am off of narcotic pain killers, I still have great difficulty in putting on socks. Of course driving a Caterham does not require socks. Doc says don't plan on any golf or tennis till summer. He said it was OK to drive. Not sure he realized I have a Seven or if he even knows what a Seven is. I'll have to admit, I can get in and out of my Tacoma much more gracefully than I can the Seven.
  3. :hurray: Happy to report that 24 days after back surgery (decompression and fusion of L4, L5, S1 utilizing 2 rods, brackets and 6 screws) I'm back in the Caterham. Just a quick trip to get gas and add stabilizer but, in spite of the 40 degree temperature, it felt great. Probably would have been warmer with the hood in place but ingess and egress would have been impossible. Removable steering wheel helped also. Don
  4. Just went through the same operation 3 weeks ago. Decompression and fusing of three vertabre. Three days of serious hurt but daily improvement since. Hope to get in the Caterham within the next week or so (sans top) to fill it up with gas and add stabilizer. "Hope' being the operative word. At this time, I'm still taking prescription pain killers. Everbody heals a little different so it's tough to compare. Got to believe that in a few months I'll be (relatively) pain free for the first time in about 6 years. Good luck to you. We should compare recoveries.
  5. :hurray: What a hoot. Want to share with friends but most wouldn't get it. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Great ride! Do you pass the little red truck in Part 4? :)
  7. State Farm covers my '92 Caterham for 1/3 less than my Tacoma and 1/2 of my Acura. Same coverage. My homeowner's insurance is also through State Farm so that my help my cause. I'm also limited to 7500 miles per year ( actual mileage is closer to 750 yearly).
  8. Thanks for sharing and documenting for future reference.
  9. All the best for a quick and complete recovery. Don & Corky
  10. :ack: Rather hear the BLAT than the music.
  11. After extensive experimentation, I have come to the conclusion that the Seven inspires more confidence in the driver than in the passenger.
  12. Thanks for the great pics. Sorry I couldn't be there. Maybe next year.
  13. Four hours to bid. Don't know the reserve but it would be worth a shot for anyone interested http://cgi.ebay.com:80/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200220908707&ssPageName=ADME:B:WNA:MOTORS:1123
  14. British Car Show in Townsend, Tennessee. Always a good draw and a lot of fun. http://www.nashvillebritishcarclub.org/nbcc/2008/spring_time_in_the_smokies/2008_announcement.pdf
  15. :_deadhorse: Several years ago Virginia was deciding whether to alow it's citizens to carry handguns (must be concealed ) at the same time that Texas was voting to carry guns (cannot be concealed). Two different approaches to the same question. Texas Monthly magazine was interviewing people at random and asking them, if the law passed, whether they would start carrying a handgun. My favorite response was; "No! If someone wants to shoot me he can bring his own gun."
  16. Maybe it's time to stop trying to interpret what our "Forefathers" were thinking and just decide what's best. My humble opinoin: a handgun has no place in a civilized society. I, myself, am not a hunter or target or skeet shooter but I see no problem with it if with these sports are limited to sport rifles. Handguns are for shooting people. Let's join the rest of the civilized world and stop doing that.
  17. Your's might be reasonably priced but I bet it never leaks.
  18. Was trying to keep OE but................ I'll pull it apart, check the bore size and investigate my options.
  19. Anybody know of a source for Girling rebuild kits for brake master cylinder for my '92 Caterham? Can't believe the only alternative is to buy a complete new unit ($400) which is the dealer's sugestion. Caterham US doesn't list a kit in their on-line catalog. Don
  20. I Googled this book and it looks like a good one. Unfortunately, it's out of print. I'll put a search out on Ebay. Maybe one will show up. Don
  21. :willy: Does anyone know of a cross reference guide for Seven parts? So many are borrowed from other Brit cars it would seem that someone would have put together such a list. Don
  22. Thanks for starting one of the most entertaining threads of the year. I'm always looking for new ways to handle these offers. Love the drain hair. Hmmmm, maybe now I have a use for all that bellybutton lint I've been saving.
  23. Anyone know of a source for the front turn signal (repeater) units for the Caterham front wings or if they're interchangeable with any other car? Mine's a "92.:willy: :willy:
  24. I going to try to make it. Mazda, you can have a go with my tow car if you like, If you think you can handle 210 Japanese horses. Of course, the center of gravity would be a little higher than you're used to. Don
  25. Sorry Mazda. That was cruel.
