  1. Thanks. That looks like exactly what I'm missing. Any idea where I could get those? I can probably figure out an alternative, but it'd be nice to have the real thing. I've emailed wipac already; hopefully they can help me out.
  2. I have a set of these lamps (http://www.wipac-aftermarket.com/acatalog/Classic_Headlamps.html) but I think I must be missing a part or at not understanding how they're supposed to go together. What normally retains the reflector/lens unit into the front ring? Does anyone have pictures of one of these taken apart? Thanks

  6. 96%. I think the engine question one is a bit ambiguous.( I answered atmospheric ) Otherwise though I thought it was fairly well written.

    Potatoes [joke]

Four guys are playing golf, and the group in front of them is incredibly slow. Always looking for a lost ball, taking forever to putt, and there are two holes empty in front of them. One of the gys whips out his cell phone and calls the clubhouse, and asks that a ranger be sent out to hustle the slow group along. The ranger shows up and listens to the complaints. He then explains that the "slow"group consists of blind men, any they only play occasionally, and the complainers should cut them some slack. The first guy in the group, a priest, says, "We should be more caring, I will say a prayer for those poor blind fellows." The second guy, a rabbi, says. "Father I will join you in that prayer, we must be compassionate to the handicapped" The third guy, an eye doctor, says, " give me their names and I will see them for free, and maybe I can cure their blindness." The fourth guy, an engineer, says "Can't they play at night?"
  8. The Zetec Supersport page lists it as, "fully PC programmable Pectel direct fire ignition/F.I. control unit with mounting hardware," I was taking a look on the Pectel website and wondered if anyone knew which ECU it's refering to. Thanks
  9. I saw this over on the elisetalk forums and I thought people over here might be interested. You can read more about it here: http://www.elisetalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=42483. (The thread says 4.5 lbs, but they offer 2 different models to chose from)
  10. My dad and I are getting ready to purchase a LSiSC and I'm hoping we might be able to drop by on 777 and check out all the cars and maybe get the kind of input that's hard to garner on internet forums. We'll be crossing through the area on the 7th on the way to my college orientation, and hopefully will be able to stick around for a few hours, say 12-4. Are people going to be around to converse with, or is everyone going to be using every waking hour slaying the dragon? One of the main reasons we're doing this is to clarify whether we really need to order an SV size chassis (obviously we'd rather not if we can manage otherwise). Please let me know if your going to be 'around' during this time so we might be able to have a chat. Thanks ce1984
  11. My father and I have decided to buy a Caterham SV kit, less engine and transmission, and worry about the engine later. Someone has mentioned that they might have a used Duratec 2.0L available for sale later this summer, and I think that might be our best option. However, I'm concerned that ordering a car this way might present certain obstacles. First of all, If we buy an engine from a third party, it's unlikely to come with all the neccessary installation hardware, i.e. exhaust, engine mounts, cooling hoses etc. What is the best source for parts like this? And will the cost Second, doesn't caterham need to know which engine is going to be used in order to build the car with the correct exhaust cutouts, cutout in the bonnet for the induction system, etc.? Are these something that is assumed to be completed by the customer? I suppose this means that once the chassis is ordered we are locked in as far as choice of engine goes. Finnaly, I'm a bit unclear as to exactly where the engine stops and the car begins when they price their kits as "less engine and transmission." What additional parts will I need if I buy ONLY the engine and transmission from a third party? Thanks for your time ce1984
  12. I saw your car again today and it reminded me to check back on this thread. That was me shouting from the silver BMW . If you have time I'd love to come check it out, maybe try it on for size. I've got plenty of time this weekend and in the afternoons next week. Send me a PM or an email or something if you're up for it. Thanks for your time.
  13. The reason I'm bringing this up is that I'd like to try on a classic seven for size to see if I'll need the SV Anyway, Several weeks ago I saw a right hand drive seven in black with a yellow stripe coming the other direction on 25-70. I'm hoping it was someone on here! If not, are there any other registries of owners or any other way to track the owner of this car down? Thanks
  14. I just checked out the raceline website. A comprable engine to the Zetec, power-wise (at least initial power) would I suppose be the 2.0L Duratec 180. The listed price converts to 11,080 which is in the same range as the Zetec. The engine/transmission kits on the caterham website say that they include everything needed to install given that you have the chassis kit. If we got the chassis from caterham and an engine from raceline, which additional parts would be required? Are things like engine mounts included as part of the chassis or the engine?
