  1. Jim, congratulations on finally getting your plates. I was cringing as I read through the 6 pages of this thread, it's just painful. I guess the tradeoff is that you have some fantastic roads to drive in northern Cal, but I don't know if it offsets the kit car registration headaches. Hope you can really start enjoying your purchase now. Chad
  2. 07/25 - SOLD Thanks Jim!
  3. Well, it looks like my eBay sale is probably not be going through, so before listing again I am offering it up for the winning bid price of $26,712.95 + shipping from Seattle. Considering it was over $32,600 in just materials alone, that is a great deal... (206) 396-2661

  6. Wow, I hear crickets... Nobody is buying apparently, does anyone have anything interesting to trade that's not another seven?

Chad Marsh (206) 396-2661 http://www.marshsite.com/s01.jpg http://www.marshsite.com/trailer.jpg Although there is no question this is a fantastic car, both in looks and performance, I have decided that a Seven is really just not for me. Those of you that followed my build know that a have high standards and attention to detail, you will be hard pressed to find a nicer Ultralite of the 90 or so in existance today. http://www.marshsite.com/s2k.htm http://www.marshsite.com/811.htm Honda S2000 2.2L 240HP engine with 6-speed MT, Subaru WRX LSD. This car has just over 2000 miles on it, 2.2L Honda engine had 66K before landing here. This car has been put through the paces, both on a tour and on the track. Weaknesses were found and resolved, it is now rock solid dependable. A stock turn-key Ultralite S2K is $38,750 and if you order one now you will take delivery in about a year or so. Upgrades over stock form include: 2.2L Honda F22C S2000 engine ($1000 over stock 2.0L on secondary market) 16”x6.5” Motegi Traklite wheels (11.9 lbs!) and Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star-spec tires ($1000 over stock) Fuel Safe 8-gallon racing cell with internal bladder and surge box ($900 over stock) Planet Color Nautical Paint ($800 over standard paint) Complete car covered in Venture Shield paint protection film (like 3M, StonGard, Clear Bra, $1300) Spare set of paint-matched rear fenders ($600) 4” Trail Tech SC4 HID Headlamps ($400) Carbon Fiber Dash and Fender Protectors ($300) Carbon Fiber Rear and Side View Mirrors ($250) Auto Meter Ultralite gauge package upgrade ($200) Wilwood Rear 12” Drilled Rotor upgrade ($150) Wilwood rear brake bias proportioning valve ($50) Ultra Compact Italian air horn ($50) Numerous other sub-$100 upgrades not listed. Total upgrades over stock: $7000+, which would put it in the $45,000 range new. Asking $33,000 Fully enclosed Interstate 20'x8' car hauler trailer available also, with the car for $3,500, but not for sale separately unless the car goes without it. Feel free to call with any questions. Chad Marsh (206) 396-2661 Most of the pictures show the old 18" 3-pc silver wheels, the current wheels are the black 16", which are 12 lbs lighter per wheel. http://www.marshsite.com/s04.jpg http://www.marshsite.com/s08.jpg
  10. Nice. How Much?
  11. I lucked out on the weather, rain all the way down the night before, but perfect on the day of the event, until the last 15 minutes when the showers returned. Set your YouTube account preferences to always playback high quality if you have an account and a fast connection, or go here and click the 'Watch in High Quality' link at the bottom right: Enjoy!
  12. Just a diamond-shaped base with two screws: http://www.marshsite.com/503-11.jpg The ones I got are just flat glass, but apparently they are no longer available from 360 Tuners. If I had the option, I would probably go convex on both since they are so small. I ended up getting this one for a center (could also use as L & R): http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/product/357/Club_Series_Race_Mirrors A little nicer quality but more than twice the price...
  13. Eventually I will post my remaining build photos, but for now just these action shots at the track: http://www.marshsite.com/811.htm
  14. I have round HID's, although they are black housing not chrome, and not a DOT approved light. They also have no hi/low, but they do put out plenty of light on low only. They are Trail Tech SC4, designed for ATV's, available in 30W or 40W, about $380-$420 for a pair. Ballasts are internal to the housing, so they just connect with power and ground. 15. 7even - In all fairness, that was Porsche was just a vanilla 911 carrera with a VERY slow driver, the video made it look like more than it was. In the next run however I was able to stay sandwiched between a 997 Turbo and a 997 GT3 for about 8 laps, and we were all moving at a pretty good clip, so I was pretty happy with that for a first day out. Brian - Thanks, I just heard back from the Portland BMW ACA club and I was able to get them to let me run as configured at PIR on 08/25, so I will get some more video there. (First time on the Portland track) There was a Pro photographer at PR when I shot this video, he got some pretty good shots so I ordered the CD of all my shots, let me know if you want any of them for the website, and which ones: Redmist Photo The first page has 7 photos, there are 8 more on the next page. Oh yeah, so what do you think of my front license plate mount? Several cops have seen it and not given me any trouble, so it must be OK. Every time I see a cop, I feel like I'm driving something that should be illegal (go-kart on steroids) it's a strange feeling...
  16. Jerry- I was experimenting with the line a little bit in the tight switchback, but mostly following the same line to compare with what I'm used to driving. Loren - 235/40/18 PS2's, 22 psi cold. They were hooking up pretty well after a few laps,I could probably drop the pressure a couple pounds though.
  17. Ok, here it is again, I was having trouble getting the high quality settings to work on Youtube. So this was my first time on the track with the Ultralite, it did fantastic, although it took me a little while to suppress my fear factor of driving toward the limit in an open car. In the session following this one (which I forgot to record), I was able to stay sandwiched between a 993 Turbo and a 996 GT3 for about 6 laps, so I was pretty happy with that for a first go. In the safer of the hairpins (turn 8, just past the lane lines) I was able to easily get the rear to step out and throttle steer around the turn, what fun! If you actually follow the Youtube link and then click the 'Watch in High Quality' at the lower right of the window, the video is much better, does anyone know how to direct link or embed the HQ Youtube option for a video?
  18. Thanks everyone, but I decided the best solution was to just buy another set of the F1 carbon side mirrors I already have, either side can be used as a center, and then I will have a spare in case one get's broken. At $69.95, it's definitely the best deal out there, if anyone is looking: http://www.360tuners.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=236 Real carbon fiber housing and good quality machined aluminum components. The fit & finish where the housing meets the lens could be a little better, but it's still acceptable (by my fairly high standards) and the price is right. Thanks again,
  19. Not a real exciting video, but it was exciting for me: Guess I should put the hood on... [YT]ZDOJ-Ki3FfA]YouTube Video[/url]
  20. Thanks xflow, but to clarify, I am looking for a center dash-mounted rearview, not the side mirrors, I have those already. It needs to fit between my windscreens, so either a standard shaped one but shorter, or a square, oval, round, whatever.
  21. Does anyone know of a good source to get a compact rearview mirror for a Se7en? Carbon fiber housing would be preferred to match my existing scheme, and someplace on this continent would be best, or reasonably priced quick shipping across the pond. Thanks,
  22. Ok, I'm committed now, time off scheduled with work and all hotel reservations made. I'd better make sure the Ultralite is ready! Certainty: 90%+ Legs attending: 4 pre-tour, 1-3 Hotels booked: Ft. Bragg - Quality Inn & Suites 9/1-9/5 (Family will stay there for duration, I will stay 9/1 and 9/5) Chico - Hotel Diamond 9/2 Chester - Best Western Rose Quartz Inn 9/3 Weaverville - 49er Old Country Inn 9/4 Pre-tour: 90%+ Ft. Bragg to Chico on 9/2 My plan is to leave on Sunday 08/31 hauling the Ultralite (in Trailer) and family down from Seattle, cutting over to the Oregon coast when I hit Portland, and stay Sunday night in Coos Bay. Then continue Monday down the coast to Ft. Bragg, setting the family up to stay there, probably at Quality Inn & Suites (only one of two with pool and Internet), where I would stay Monday night. Tuesday in the Ultralite doing what would essentially be leg 4 by myself, Ft. Bragg to Chico, stying there Tuesday night and starting the tour with you all on Wed, then bailing on the last leg and heading back north on Saturday. Sounds like fun!
  23. Sorry Chuck, I would have to strongly disagree. While the Ultralite might be a fantastic Se7en, getting it to that point from the 'kit' certainly does not meet the above requirements. With the Ultralite manual, you will scratch your head, until you have a bald spot, and realize "Hey! there is no manual!" I have nothing else to compare to, but with my Ultralite build, I'm certainly glad I have my TIG welder, drill press, metal chop saw, grinders, cobalt bit set, etc. etc. I would say the opposite end of the scale from what you are looking for.
  24. This one (Donkervoort?) is interesting, it is Honda S2000 powered, and has "world class" in the title, but's it's not an Ultralite and the body looks more like a Stalker than a WCM S2K... It's also listed in Parts > Wheels & Tires > Wheel Lugs , not exactly where I personally would list it... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Super-Seven-2005-unique-world-class_W0QQitemZ330245996502QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item330245996502&
