Kitkat, I agree with you 100% on your assessment.
Mopho, Trump is a lot of things, but he is no constitutionalist or conservative.

Congrats on the milestone!
Time flies.
For my 3000th post I thought I'd start at the beginning, way back at my very first post on this Forum, almost 10 years ago. Obviously I didn't get the Elise and instead a X-flow Caterham, the first of three (and counting) se7ens.It was a great choice and it has been a great adventure. And it was an easy choice, I grew up reading Road and Track in the early '60's and they never failed to extol the virtues of the small, but mighty seven.
Al was right, it is possible to drive a se7en for hours in the rain. I did that numerous times (very exciting on shaved race tires!).
I ultimately wimped out and went the trailer/tow vehicle route. That extended the useful range of my se7en's use. I was unwilling to travel long distances at night on the interstate to get to events. The deciding factor was the first USA7s get-together at NJMP 5-6 years ago. The thot of my nearly invisible seven in bumper to bumper rush hour traffic on I-95 was too intimidating, even for me.
The trailer also solved the ominous breakdown-in-the-middle-of-nowhere issue, with the needed parts on a 6 month back order dilemma.
Unfortunately, my track-dedicated seven ended the joy of early morning blats and scaring the adult citizenry and thrilling children 8 and under (a group with which seven owners seem have a natural connection -youth is fleeting but immaturity can last forever, etc.). So I may have to come up with some sort of solution in that regard, we'll see what the next 10 years brings. At that point I will be 80 and maybe starting to slow up a bit-maybe I will finally have matured enough to get that Elise:)?

Bummer... Did not know about this.
-
Yeah - how am I NOT feeling getting hit with that stuff, but it ends up under me???
--Bob Collum
Most of the rocks launch of the front wheels and bounce of the rear fender into the passenger compartment. Most of the time I got hit in the face was during left turns where the left front wheel was sort of pointed at me.
of course I ran 275s R compounds in the front and no fenders, so that might have made the situation worse.

excellent work on the rollbar

If you search around, there is some info on some of the Rotus replacement parts floating around here.
If you need additional help, I can put you in touch with one of the guys who used to work at Rotus back in the day.

Hoping for a speedy recovery.

I kept waiting for the punchline. LOL

back in the day when I split time between my vette and frankn7, I had this problem. At one point I swapped the vette to 4.10, and frankn7 was at 3.42, both with the same engine and transmission. the car with 3.42 had half the weight of the other. I lost track of gears in both cars a few times.

well, software upgrade is done. tonight I'll take another crack at installing spam-o-matic and opening up registration again.
-
Yes, software has been upgraded. I don't have an explanation as to what happened to those posts. Hosting company says the upgrade activity should have nothing to do with that problem.

Guys, to expand on John's answer, I'm not ignoring this problem.
I had locked down registrations with a secret question for quite a while, forcing new registrations to email me and ask me for the answer. This worked on eliminating spam registrations, but I got complaints about the process being too difficult. So I removed that and installed Spam-O-Matic a few weeks ago. As John indicated, we started getting reports of users not being able to log in. I removed Spam-O-Matic and replaced with image verification, which is not very effective. At the same time I opened a ticket with our vBulletin host to upgrade to version 4.x, and try Spam-O-Matic (which was also their recommendation). I'm waiting for them to perform this task.
Concurrent to this, I have been trying to delete the bogus users. Version 3.8 does not allow selecting multiple users and deleting - you have to do it one by one. I've developed a script to do this, but it's still a very manual process. At least now I can keep up with the incoming flow.
I will update further when I have more info.

sorry guys, my internet was down at home.
hosting company is working on upgrading the site... hopefully we'll get a handle on spammers soon. Of course there is a sea of spammers who have already joined :banghead:
