  1. Yes indeed. Could have been way worse. I am really happy he is not getting this beauty. He does not deserve it at all. Hopefully it will be re listed by next week.
  2. My beautiful 1995 Caterham Seven Crossflow will be back on BaT at the end of the week or early next week. The buyer (sic) put me through hell for over 2 weeks. Won't go into the sordid details but he is never going to buy or sell another car through BaT and that is a good thing for all !!!! Aloha. Ray
  3. Damn...I thought it wasn't making reserve just 20 minutes to go...then....... Sad but extremely happy with the result. As someone mentioned...this was a unicorn and really deserved the price. Mahalo for all the kind words everyone.
  4. I agree...not a problem! Such a different car its not even close.
  5. A bit bummed they listed it 1 day before mine ended! Not sure a real Caterham buyer will care hopefully.
  6. Very interesting. Many thanks for the back story mate. Yes I think you are correct with the way this one came about. I spoke to the guys at TMW and it sounded like this one was a special build. Aloha!
  7. With regards the fuel filler. I have never had any issues with this. No aromas in the garage. No leaking or overflowing. And it does give extra space in the "trunk" and no staining on the back from over filling! As regards this configuration. This was called a US Race but it does not match the description that @IamScotticus gave above. Mahalo for all the input and info.
  8. Mahalo Jim. The Alfa sold yesterday to a guy who came to see the Cat!!!! Lovely man who has several classics. The Caterham auction ends Friday so we will see what happens. I would love for it to stay in this state. Actually I would love to take it with us but our new home really is not conducive to owning a Seven. But whoever buys it is getting a very special Seven. Not too many like this in original condition with these super low miles! Going to take it for a last drive today to make some videos for BaT. Aloha!
  9. Hi brother. Yes it would. I think the Alfa will stay but not sure about the Seven. I do have someone coming over to look from BaT who lives here part time so you never know! Thanks for the well wishes Jim. I hope you are well. Once the cars are sold we will be ready to leave ....so very excited! Aloha!
  10. No way!!!!! That is so cool. But this is killing me brother!
  11. Have you ever put something up for sale that you hope does not sell!!!!!! No...it has to go but....ouch it hurts.
  12. It is a 1600. I have all the build receipts and engine test data. A very sad day for me. Cant believe I am having to sell it after waiting so long to buy one again.
  13. No idea. He told me they are not making for Pegasus anymore.
  14. I called them and was told they no longer sell wires as their maker stopped making!
  15. So it seems that Pegasus no longer sell plug wires!
  16. Mahalo Scott. The Pegasus look nice but they want almost $100 to ship them to Maui!!!!! So NGK it is.
  17. Looking to source a replacement set of plug wires for my '95 US Race Seven w/ 1600 Crossflow Sprint motor. Need to tidy it up before it goes on BaT .... unfortunately! Mahalo!
  18. Hi. Looking for at least 2 center caps for my Two Gates (Minilite style) wheels. (60mm hole) Would be interested in other style caps...just need to be 60mm ID. Aloha!
  19. @CarlB mahalo for the suggestion. They look quite nice. However I am looking to keep the authentic early Seven look. Individual seats are more modern and don't do it of me. But those are the best I've seen so far. But will they fit in a standard solid axle chassis?
  20. Yes I would Scott. In fact I have a good upholstery shop right across the street for us. I have feeling my old one had modified pads.
  21. Did any of you guys ever see the mature Ferrari V-12 that was an accurate copy that ran. I think it was about 1/4 scale. Saw it running at Montery Historics one year.
  22. Hi Scott, careful mate.....you are talking about my old neighbor...hahaha! Sir Roger used to live on the next road to us and was a friend of my Mum and Dad! I used to see him every day while i waited for the bus to school. He would be driving to Elstree Studios to make The Saint, always in his white Volvo P1800 with ST1 plates! Strangely enough Honor Blackman (The Avengers) lived on the street opposite. Of course this was before either of them did their Bond things. I actually came here to ask about seats too but I don't like to ambush this thread. I am looking for a seat that is slightly more padded and supportive than the standard bench in my solid axle crossflow. It seems way thinner than the one in my old Big Valve for some reason. Also I think my older one had more of a bolster under the knee. Maybe less personal padding!!! So I find myself sliding forwards all the time. I know I need to move my pedals closer. I will watch the answers here for some ideas. Aloha!
  23. All done! Mahalo for your help!
  24. I cannot thank you enough for your help. Brilliant!!!!! Looks like the diagram shows the bracket with the collet out...I think mine was like yours...inside. Where did you "zip the cable to its fixing" ?
  25. On the soft mounts...I have used Thackery washers on the bottom studs with the rubber doughnuts on top. The washers have been compressed to .040" between coils. The doughnuts I have compressed until there is about a penny ( .065") width between the cup washers. But i just found this info on an Elan forum and it seems to be exactly what i am looking for. 1) Thackeray washer: until there's a 0.35 - 0.50 inch (0.89 ? 1.27 mm) gap between the coils, or... 2) Rubber Grommet: until all slack is taken up between the nut, cup washer and rubber grommet (ie, the stack just goes solid), then tighten the nut another 1 1/2 turns, ensuring that the "V" in all grommets is equal. Since the M8 nuts have a 1.25 pitch thread, 1 1/2 turns is equivalent to 1.88mm (0.074") of crush/ pre-load... or roughtly 2 mm (0.08")
