  1. Yes, that's correct, mine is the Ecoboost crate engine which Ford rates on their website at 310hp and 350 lb/ft of torque. I believe them when I put my foot into it.
  2. JimSVO: I've got a Ford 2.3 Turbo crate engine in my Stalker with a Mazda 6 speed and a Cadillac CTS rear end. It is quick, very quick! The power to weight ratio is very close to the Caterham 620. The Stalker has fully independent rear end with pushrod activated inboard coilover shocks at both ends.
  3. I also am confused about the mini-split ducts. I installed a 2 ton unit in my garage with the outside unit on the driveway garage wall. It was not a difficult install as the assistance I needed was lifting the evaporator unit up on the wall while threading the line set through the exterior wall. I also needed help from my next door neighbor lifting the 150ish pound outside unit onto the wall mounting rack about 2.5 feet off the ground. During a bout of 12-14 degree days this past winter my garage was 65 degrees and I wasn't pushing the unit hard at all. I did add some rather "high end" insulation to my garage door (Stop the Snirt) at the bottom and the exterior sides and top of the door. I also installed a rubber gasket at the inside top edge of the door that seals the gap at the top when the door closes. It's starting to warm up now and it's set at 72 degrees and working very nicely. Pioneer 2 ton unit shipped free for a little over $2K. It was also a good excuse to add to my tool collection.
  4. I had a Subaru SVX about that color. It was a nice car and I liked how it changed shades of green in different light. I also liked how it would go through two feet of unplowed snow in the mountains of Eastern Arizona one winter.
  5. I'm pretty sure I went from 14 to 12 gauge on my current fan based on a previous comment by you. I'll certainly make sure on the new "hurricane" version. I know I should have done this originally but I'm also going to run the new fan through a relay.
  6. I did not but I think I'll head over to Summit in the next day or so and pick one up. I did swap the original with another but I'm pretty sure it does flow like the one you suggested. It's more like a good breeze than a hurricane.
  7. No undertray under the engine and the engine sticks out the top, and bottom, of the hood so the air coming into the nosecone and through the radiator has lots of room to leave. I hadn't considered the fact that cooler intake air would increase HP and more BTUs so modifying the intake might drop to the bottom of the priority list. I also hadn't considered a smaller water pump pulley. There's no sandwich oil cooler and I'll check for an aux water pump installed where I haven't noticed. These two items, along with straightening any bent radiator fins, will likely be my next steps if not there already (pretty sure they're not). Thank you all for your suggestions!
  8. When I push it hard the temp starts to increase pretty quickly. It will settle back down ls I return to normal driving. Stopped at a stoplight it will climb 20+ degrees from a norm of 180-190 degrees. I have tightened the baffling in the nosecone on the sides of the radiator to force more air through the radiator and installed a switched fan which I run all the time. This is a Ford crate engine installed by the original builder who did a very nice job with the total build. The intake is right next to the turbo on the lower right side of the engine (within inches of the turbo body) and there is an intercooler installed behind the radiator. Here's my plan: Get the intake away from the turbo with a 90 degree intake extension for the K&N air cleaner prior to the MAF to reduce the ambient intake air temperature. Look for a higher flow capacity fan. Questions: Would a remote oil cooler help? Would a duct system to try to get more air flow to the intercooler help? I guess I could drive slowly all the time and that would fix the issue.... Naaahh!!!
  9. Good to hear! On the other hand, I'm sure as soon as the "high government officials" find out that EF gas is out there they will cut off access immediately.
  10. panamericano: I live on the far Southwest side of Fort Worth and it is very near me just off of the Chisholm Trail Parkway at Oakmont Blvd. I suspect it is about as far from you as is your station in Greenville. It is a Murphy Express station and is fairly new to our area. They prominently display "Ethanol Free Fuel Available" on their gas price display so perhaps there is one near you. Look for a Murphy Express in your area. If you live near a big lake I've noticed that stations around lakes are likely to carry EF gas for the boaters. Good hunting!
  11. jbcollier & MV8: Thank you for your information. While I received a Cobb tuner with the car I have not installed it so the engine is running a stock tune and the car weighs approximately 1600 lbs. I have not noticed any symptoms of detonation but will be a little more attentive in the future. Thanks again.
  12. I now have a station that has ethanol free gas near me. I previously had to drive about 25 miles to Cressson Motorsports Ranch west of Fort Worth to get it. They have a station there with EF gas and VP race fuels for the race crowd. Will the RON being 2-3 points lower for EF gas than the RON for Premium (with ethanol) have a negative effect on my Ford Ecoboost Mustang crate engine? The car sits for extended periods, especially now with temps in the 105-110 degree range so I have been using EF gas for some time to offset the negative effects of old ethanol fuel. But I'm curious about any possible negative effects resulting from the lower RON.
  13. Two side pipes in last video. Is this the same car? There was no crossover pipe in the first video. Just curious. Appears to be a nice job overall. This is what long winters on a Canadian farm can achieve.
