Hi guys. I tried in the Caterham 7 club (UK) to get this question answered but did not. Please, can someone mesure the position of point 2 relative to point1 on their car (center of the front surface of the upper suspension bolt relative to the center of the light bracket mounting hole) so 3 mesurment (front, side, height). I want to make a bracket to fit my imperial chassis with the "new" light position. That would be very appreciated I am at the point too solder parts together. Picture taken on the net. Did not get any response in Facebook. That does not have to be at 1/16in precise 😉 Thanks

When I got the wheels and tires mounted from Caterham, the same thing happed. Aka the weights felt. The position inside the wheel was obvious so I've glue them and but some thin foil aluminum tape over them. (Painted black) clean and "permanent" :-)

This is probably true, except if you are an engineer. Then you design things until they are over the top and once you get there, you work (try) to make it more simple without sacrifing anything. :-)

I guess he was pretty happy not to have to create a gap for the steering collum to got through. Very nice torque and hp curve btw!

Hi John, your build seems to be going well! Did you figure out how your gonna fit the airbox. Mine will be even more challenging since it is the tinier S3 frame... I just brought back a new bonnet without any cuthole for air filters but side vents form de UK, along with some carbon front wings. I got no clue if the air box of Caterham actual design won't restrict too much air flow ( and it will need to be on the right side since the pedal box is on the way in our driver side) Regards!

Your dash setup looks very clean, thanks for sharing the drilling method. I still have a blank carbon dash (from Westermann too)to be cut for my switch and gauges. I was heading for a 620r style dash as you did but will probably keep my original square switchs (like a 420r) Last time calculated all the bits an pieces required, the total cost was pretty high... but it is probably easier to drill a square hole than cutting a square one. Will see if I find some parts that could be working for a look alike setup. But it does look very nice! Will the 420r exhaust system (cat and exhaust piping) will still work with your increased output or it will be limitative?

My caterham has a Omex Ecu. If I recall it's the 500 serie. Not the most advanced but it should do the job. Best regards!

Hi john! Thanks for your answer. The 2.0 duratec has wiseco pistons and k1 con rods. The head is a stock 2.0 head. Clutch and flywheel were upgraded. No throttle body / alternator /no oil pan on it. I know what you mean with the potential problem if I want to resell the 2.0 after being undressed. (Including no oil pan (wet or dry). The engine has been honed (0.5mm) and is 1100usd approx. The thing is that this setup could be enough for what I am looking for. But switching from a zetec to a duratec (with all that implies) just to gain forged internals does not make sens to me (aka I need at least to be on a path for another upgrade option). Maybe it doesn't make sens and I should do everything together but it's too much money for now. Opinions are welcome :-)

Hi all, Ultimately, The build I am after is a destroked 2.5l duratec. Aka 2.3l crankshaft in a 2.5 block (such as JohnCh) I currently have a Zetec, so it will require headers/ shifting exhaust side / new bonnet etc. Here's my question : I have an opportunity to buy a forged 2.0 and see if it is enough for me. If I decide to switch to the destroked 2.5l will I be able to reuse the dry sump pan and pumb, bell housing, engine mounts, alternator/starter and trottle body? It is not always clear when I look at part number. Thanks for your help!
