  1. Ohhh sweet! Some more montreal fun! Can't wait to see it on the track and maybe play with him! hehehe wonder if it's anyone I know!
  2. another thumbs up for the IQ3... The push button usage is a little hard to get used to. But once it's set your have maybe 2 or 3 sequences that you need to remember. (Start/stop line setting, review lap time, and min/max screen). The programmable warning and alarm are nice. Easy to install in the car. And the serial bus makes it easy to wire things in the car. Also, the GPS lap timer is pretty dead-on. Maybe +/- 0.1s difference compared to a in-car racing beacon.
  3. summit racing has them too. I buy mine from them most of the time.

I know the frame jig of the SR7 currently is in the care of Len at Brittanicar in montreal. He doesn't have much time but he could/can build a frame for anyone willing to build a SR7. As for the body, you're probably out of luck. Mostly hoping and trying to figured out which other kind body can fit on it. Suspension arms? probably could be build with the frame too. The front suspension design isn't really optimal with a 2.09 motion ratio. But you can tune around it with firmer springs. You'd still have to source your hubs and shocks and steering-rack etc... So all in all, it's a good starting base for a locost. For someone that doesn't want to build a frame from scratch. The MX5 hubs, brakes, diff and axles makes it easy to swap and upgrade some parts. Mine has a SR20DET engine in it for some serious (for a 4cyl 2.0 engine) power. Awesome to drive!

Same body color as mine! Hope this one will get a good home!
  6. Thanks for the information... really appreciate it. I'll start looking at them and evaluate my options. Now I just need to figure out if my rear arch and standard size... compared to those of a Birkin/Westfield/Caterham... hmmmm
  7. I found http://www.kineticvehicles.com/fenders.html that has generic 12" wide fender . I'm looking for wider ones too. I'll be looking at local shop first to see if any can widen them at a reasonable cost.
  8. Am I looking at the right place but isn't the R25B are only available in those 15in sizes? 23.0 x 9.5R15 23.5 x 13.0R15 Those are the Formula Atlantic sizes and that's some seriously wiiiiiiiide rubber. and you need 14in wide rear rim! and they are Radial tires... (not that it's a bad thing)
  9. 13in tires are easy to find. But in my case, I'm trying to stay in the 15in range. Mostly since otherwise my brakes won't find the wheels
  10. Our TimeAttack rules are somewhat different. We are classed as 9 groups 3 tires group (Street, Mod, Race) and each of those in 3 drivetrain group (RWD, FWD, AWD). So Race is race... as long as it's below the defined threadWear, they won't mind.
  11. The theory here is that if I can get way faster in the curves, I'll have a advantages in the "short" straights we have at our time attack circuit. It's a short track... I lap it in 56.3s and that monster subbi does it in 53.4. So I got 2 seconds to get on him! yah yah wishful thinking I know! But hey spending is fun... soooo... I was more thinking along the lines of the two little frong wings that the turbo hayabusa hillclimb car had. Rear wings are easy to find and install. But the front is tricky since we have very little frontal area and cooling is very important in my case with a tiny 14" radiator and 300 rwhp. Thanks for the links tho... the wishbone foils is neat. Not sure it would fit my a-arm but I'll see if I can't design something around that idea. And I did see a 150mm that was cut in two and mounted to the front nose cone... interesting.
  12. Most lightweight wheels will be fragile to a point. My current second set are Panasport C4 3-pieces wheels. They aren't as light far from it but they are 16" and hard to find proper rubber for. But at 200$ a wheel, let them bend if I do a mistake! that's cheap compared to some 2k wheel set like Kodiak and Keisers.
  13. So I've been reading a few thread all over the web and some also on the Arial Atom web site. I've got a feel of the tire I'll probably be acquiring for my TimeTrials. I'm double-checking with anyone here that would have positive or negative criticism about the choice! The choice ends up in the Avon range. More specifically the Crossply range. I'm thinking Front: 8.5/23.5-15 or 9.1/23.5-15 in their softest compound which is A11. And for the Rear: 10.5/23.0-15 or 11.0/23.5-15 The front will be mounted on 15x8 and the rear on 15x10 (949 racing wheels). Those tires were normally made for prototypes and single seater, so they are designed for light car. Unlike some A6 and R6 that are made for saloon 2000 to 3000 lbs car. There's even a great choice of wets in the same range. As for my normal track day tires... I think I'll keep the V710 since they were great and lasted a lot of heat cycles. Or maybe try a set of Hoosier A6.
  14. Looks like a very nicely setup car. Car to share the details on the wing? I'm looking to add aero this year to keep up with those 650hp Impreza at the Time Attacks. I like the idea of dual little wings. Been looking for those all over the interweb with luck.
  15. Been using a Hans for 2 years now. No complains about it. It take about 5 more seconds to put the helmet on... It's comfortable even while using 3" shoulder straps. Since the shoulder straps are used on the street too. It's one of those thing that you hope to never have to use it... But glad you have it
