  1. I'm planning on picking up some PVC and whatnot that @wdb showed in the video they linked, hopefully that'll be a start, and then maybe pick up some of the plates/etc if I think this is something I'll do again. I'm kinda thinking I might just end up at the shop I found and hope they are competent....
  2. Thanks, that's a great video. I'll start with just PVC and strings and see where I get 😎
  3. Do those work ok? Reviews I saw online were kinda hit or miss
  4. I found a place through a car Facebook friend I'll check out - "oddball motor works" sounds right up our alley.
  5. Hey all, as many of you know I finished up my build last fall and have been out a handful of times in my 420S, which is fantastic. I was thinking about it recently and realized I probably need to do an alignment to make sure everything is set properly and won't destroy my tires. Ive never done string alignment, but kinda know the theory behind it - is something like this worth it for better results? https://www.summitracing.com/parts/qta-416436 Or can I just take it to any local shop to have it laser aligned? I couldn't find any specialty shops around here (East side of Cleveland, Ohio) and don't know how much to trust normal shops...
  6. Cool, yeah I got the replacement, but haven't popped it in the car yet. It's been subzero temps recently, and even in the garage it's cooooold
  7. Just as a follow up, I got an email from Bruce that they found a wiring issue on my unit - so if anyone else has the problem I did, let them know!
  8. Congrats! I'm jealous you were able to drive, we've had snow on the roads for like a month plus straight
  9. Went with the soft bits one - I liked the idea of the easy in/out zippers..I had a hell of a time getting in and out the only time I drove it with the full hood on
  10. Present to myself is on - not too bad once I deciphered what they were saying in the instructions. I really hated getting in and out with the full hood, so I opted for the easy-in zippers for the half hood.
  11. Well in that case, here's the two pictures I sent to catmando in regards to the gauge correction unit.
  12. I'll DM so as not to clog up this thread.
  13. Mine isn't working 😞 The light comes on immediately when plugging in, regardless of the headlights being on/off, so I'm guessing something is backwards. I'll try and figure it out at some point, but since it's not driving season anymore in Ohio, it's a winter project...
  14. I bought one of those fuel gauge correction units..it didn't work, so this is helpful info so I can troubleshoot it.
  15. Listing is live on ebay, but will still give a lower price to anyone on the board. https://www.ebay.com/itm/116416683983
  16. I bought this cover for my recently completed Caterham SV...but after sending my parents a picture of it tucked away for the year, they informed me that had purchased the "official" cover from Caterham for me. I'm looking to sell the one I bought at a discount, even though it's brand new and only been on the car for a week. No reason to keep two covers, and this is a win win for me to get a little cash back, and someone else to save a few bucks. Their site is showing it listed at £145 - but I only paid £115 (plus 64 shipping). Current conversation to USD says £115 is about $150 - so I'd be happy to take $125 shipped to anywhere in the US/Canada. Like I said, I don't really care to make all my money back, just trying to help out the community and regain a little of my expenses.
  17. Yup. Just used some tin snips to chop off the ends.
  18. Road legal! See my other thread for details on registration in Ohio...
  19. Yep! Temps are on the car, real plates will be here in a week or so.
  20. Vin was assigned (matches the chassis number) and took inspection form and statement of origin, and receipts from dealer to the title bureau - they charged me tax (over $4,000 🫤) and gave me a title - now I'm next door getting plates to be totally legal.
  21. At the inspection currently, items checked Headlights High/low Turn signal Wipers (thanks again @Mark IV) Wiper fluid Brake lights Reverse lights Horn Now he said he needs about 30 minutes to register it.
  22. My rear hub took a chunk out of my shin...twice...before I had the rear wings on mine. Part of the fun
  23. That might be worth it. My tracking number says it left the UK yesterday, but not clue what that means for when it will show up.
  24. Lol ok. I'll update the post once I know more
