  1. I lifted the back end up and adjusted the handbrake even more - i don't think I physically CAN adjust it any more, but I can still roll the car with the handbrake pulled. I also adjusted the speed sensor and got it lighting up on every tooth, so we'll see next time I blat around the neighborhood. Also my sock shoe things showed up - we'll see how they work. Might still need piloti or other "driving" shoes https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CLNYH1TW?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
  2. Went for the maiden drive just now. Speedometer isn't working - probably need to test the sensor (I was being lazy and didn't test it) Brakes feel pretty soft - is that normal or do I need to bleed again? Otherwise, my feet are too fat and hit multiple pedals at once. Ordered some sock shoes to try again next time. Hand brake STILL isn't holding the car, even though it's like all the way adjusted tight 🫤
  3. Good call out - I had already done the oil pressure steps prior to failing to start and figuring out the fuel needed primed.
  4. Sweet! One thing I found when trying to actually start the motor (which you'll be there soon)...turn the key on and off a bunch of times to move gas through the system before trying to start it.
  5. I went ahead and ordered through softbits - the email tells me it's an 8 week lead time, which is fine, I won't be driving much over the next 5+ months anyway I assume - Ohio winters can be rough.
  6. I'm just avoiding the months long delay that's coming with the couple things I have ordered directly through Caterham. 🥱
  7. Ok, thanks for the details, looks like I'll go the softbits route...
  8. I'm looking to add a half-hood to my recently completed (pretty much) Caterham SV and the general consensus is either Soft bits or Thunder sport...thing is, the links for thundersport seem to not work....https://www.thundersport.co.uk/ returns a "site cannot be reached" and general googling is returning nothing. Is softbits my only option now? or is there another vendor (or other spinoff of oxted trimming)?
  9. It lives!!! (and then dies) I put in gas, and got it started up yesterday - but it died immediately unless i hit the gas, so i clearly need to adjust the throttle a bit, no biggie. Still waiting on the updated battery tray from Time Machines (but have the battery installed and sitting there, just not being held down very well. might zip tie the shit out of it until the battery tray arrives. Also still waiting on the damn steering column bushing that "shipped" on 9/16 otherwise list is down to: replace mirror glass license plate bracket that rocky mountain shipped out yesterday wiper switch that was backordered then i just need to start the process of getting it registered...which hopefully won't be too bad (but not 100% sure because the self-build and salvage title links are the same...and everything refers to "existing title" which obviously i don't have...)
  10. Happens to the best of us - and i did have to adjust mine up quite a bit as well, they weren't even hitting the windshield initially. safety pin worked great.
  11. Ugh. Fuel FILLER cover.
  12. Yep, that's exactly what I was talking about
  13. the sprayers were already in place on the chassis at delivery, do i will have to go through the same disassembly if mine are not well aligned. i haven't looked closely at them, but i take it that means you can't do the standard "needle in the nozzle" trick?
  14. Got the rear wing piping/fixings and the correct silencer yesterday, so I am just a few short steps away from starting this thing up.... my short "to do" list - secure handbrake cable - bleed brakes again - tighten rear hub nuts - washer fluid bottle and fuel filter cover - glue remaining carpet in boot area - aim/tighten headlights - replace mirror glass on drivers mirror - steering column bushing....shipped a month ago, still waiting on it. - license plate bracket (sent an email to rocky mountain about that) - put in gas - pray - start it up - drive it around the block without dying.
  15. oh, and on the throttle cable plastic thing, i had to "encourage" it with a mallet. i remember taking it off the cable and rethreading it once it was pushed in.
  16. Yep, don't glue in the trunk side carpet (if you have it) until the rear wings are on, but everything else is good to go, including seats. Also, do the tunnel before the seats, otherwise you'll end up like me with not being able to get the set screw in...but whatever. I slapped it and said "that ain't going anywhere" so it's all good. Also FYI, most of your carpet will probably need trimmed. Mine was all too big for just about every spot.
  17. I also had a similar issue, but luckily didn't break off anything. You'll probably have the same problem on the seat belt uppers too (if you have the four points). I've heard you can cut a notch in a bolt to help clean out the threads, or you can just run your tap through it.
  18. They'll get back to you eventually. I emailed build support and got a direct response from Lee, have been working directly with him since. I'm not sure how they "assign" people.
  19. Yeah, or at least get them to add them to the picklist lol
  20. Loosen the clip up like all the way, slide it over the end of the hose and back like 3-5" (it should be loose enough to fall off on its own). Put the hose over the inlet/nipple/whatever you want to call it, use a little wd40 if it's tight getting it on there. Then slide the clip back down over the junction, it should still be able to slide easily. Crank it down with a socket/screwdriver.
  21. Which part are you struggling with? Getting the hose on the nipple? Or getting the clip over the hose? If it's getting the clip over the hose, make sure it's loosened up, if it doesnt fit even when fully expanded, I have TONS of leftover clips, so just size up. They have the span listed on them (27-40 for example)
  22. I was as well, and so was the other guy in Ohio I've been talking with offline.
  23. Pretty much done, just waiting on the shipment of missing parts to wrap it up. Battery tray Rear wing fixing pack with piping Wiper switch Silencer I'll put an additional layer of glue on the wingstays (the power grab was just falling off, so I peeled it completely off) Then just need to fit the washer fluid bottle, tighten the wheel hub nuts, rebleed the brakes, and fill it up with gas. Then pray that I didn't miss anything....
  24. Another stupid question - I didn't get any "power adhesive" in my kit, which I assume is normal for US specs, but what did people use instead? I went with regularly available loctite power grab, but I don't feel like it's really holding that well.
