  1. So as I am now looking to just replace my stock brake pads for the basic need of it, can anyone help me with a cross reference to the pads if I walked into a general auto parts store? Thanks.
  2. Absolutely! Just let me know when is good for you.
  3. Sounds great!
  4. Well I was not expecting that but I certainly trust your collective opinions. I was worrying I might see some brake fade but I get it now.
  5. So I am thinking about upgrading my brakes a bit before a track day I have at the end of September. Besides buying parts in the UK, who stateside sells brake parts?
  6. Hi Oscar, I really appreciate the offer but I actually have an SV now! And I bought mine in Alabama
  7. T-22B Here is a link: http://motor.etax.dor.ga.gov/forms/pdf/motor/t-22b.pdf
  8. According to the state of GA, I currently own a 1967 Lotus 7! My neighbor who is a police officer ran the VIN and even sent it off to an expert who couldn't find anything on it so at the end of it he filled out a form verifying the vehicle to be a 1967 Lotus 7. He said the reason he preferred to follow what the car was replicating as opposed to calling it a Caterham is that it is easier on their systems and people who inspect to get it through on anything pre 1981 since that was before VIN standards. All I know is, it feels great and I don't have to worry about emissions! Thanks for suggesting not to follow the original advice of the DMV....what was I thinking listening to them?
  9. For future reference, and this should help others, you need to have a copy of your insurance binder.
  10. Thanks for the link! According to this the chassis is from 2001 even though it is a "2003" model and was advertised as such in Car And Driver, Automobile and Autoweek magazine within that year.
  11. Brad, that sounds way better than salvage title. Leave it to driver services to never mention that of course. I have a police officer neighbor that should be able to help out on the official certification of the VIN, so hopefully that part should work to my advantage as I would really rather not have to put a cat on the car. I will follow the assembled vehicle route and keep you all posted.
  12. Great advice. Only issue right now is that the PA DMV is apparently having technical issues and I cannot speak with anyone there.....ugh. I'll try next week.
  13. So the fun begins, I went to register my newly purchased 2003 Caterham here in Georgia and I realized something quite odd. I do not have a year registered to my title and make is listed as “SP CONSTR”. So I am told by the DMV that I will need to be filing for a rebuilt/salvage title. My title is from Pennsylvania, not sure that they ever leave the year off of anything, I am assuming it was an error and SP CONSTR seems understandable if they don’t have Caterham in their database and they can’t enter a custom field in the system. Does anyone here have a “salvage” title for their perfectly working, never totaled, Seven? How common is that and is that going to hurt the value of the car one day? Last question, anyone ever seen a title without a year?
  14. You guys are nuts! lol I have certainly found the right place.
  15. Scott, thanks again for providing such a great buying experience.
  16. Thanks for all the great comments! I am so genuinely excited about going to the store now for milk or eggs or anything! Haha. I am looking for excuses to leave the house already.
  17. Oh boy, what should I prepare for? Do I have to comply to emission testing based on what motor is in it? I am in Gwinnett Co.
  18. Hi All, After many years of dreaming (roughly 10 years) and actively searching for 1 year plus, I pulled the trigger this past Saturday and bought the 2003 Caterham SV listed here in the for sale section. As many of you know, and as you can see from my join date, I have lurked on here for a long time and asked random questions while constantly checking the for sale section daily and gobbling up all the videos. I look forward to now properly contributing with knowledge I gain from behind the wheel, under the hood and here on the PC. Damn it feels good to say it, I own a Seven! Martin
  19. I loved every minute of this: This guy is on it and in great control all the way.
  20. So I do plan on visiting BlueMax but I realized I might be leaving something out. I do need to find out how a fit in an SV, but a regular 7 would be a good experience to know how to compare the two. Anyone else around in the Atlanta are preferably that has an S3? Just need to borrow 5 minutes to see how I fit in the driver's seat.
  21. Hi there, thanks so much! That is a huge improvement on miles. I will see what I can do to arrange a trip, I will keep you posted, thank you.
  22. I agree, it is worth knowing how either one fits. I can speculate all day long but until my ass is in the seat....I'll never really know the difference.
  23. For me not personal at all. I am 6'2 and weigh 170 soaking wet. So width is not a concern, but pedal room certainly is. I need to experience both probably, but I am guessing I will like the extra space in an SV. I have not considered a Stalker since I like the look and closer purity of the Lotus concept with the Caterham.
  24. Hello again Kitcat, thanks for the further explanation. As you can tell, as a guy that has been on the Caterham market for 1/2 a year, it is a tough go now that I have to pair them all down to an SV. I want room for my feet.
