  1. Just paid a fortune and ordered the foam from Caterham direct and the gaskets off eBay. I’ll have to check them out next time.
  2. Thank you! I’ll add that to my list. Right now I’ve got a slightest leak from the oil pressure sensor (I’m assuming that’s it) as there’s a slight oil coating on the block, and after drive, it might leave a tiny drop on the floor. but maybe it’s the gasket.
  3. Found it here. Does this look right? Price doesn’t feel too bad. How often would you replace the gasket? https://spareto.com/products/elring-gasket-wet-sump/164-341 ill order the foam from Caterham.
  4. Amazing. Thanks for the pics. Haven’t had a chance to see the inside yet
  5. Hopefully I’m not adding noise to an old post here. Sometimes i wish my exhaust was quieter in the front too… but most times i enjoy it. I ended up getting the loop ear plugs, and they work well. Reduces the volume pretty good, but doesn’t eliminate the fidelity of the sound.
  6. Well… it’s time to drop the oil pan and checkout this foam baffle on my 97 HPC. It’s got the 2.0L Vauxhall C20XE engine. any good leads on the foam baffle? And same for the cork gasket? Or could I put the sump back on with silicone instead? Or other recommended options?

    1997 VXI

Finally I took the time to actually stop driving my new ride, and take a picture. Bought my “new” 1997 with a 2.0 vauxhall vxi and 29k miles in the UK beginning of June. After 3 months and lots of fun with customs, it’s a fully registered ride in Washington state, and spends its time being driven around the Portland and Columbia Gorge areas. I am sure I’ll be posting a lot more questions as I jumped into this journey!

  8. Thanks both! I’ll be looking at these adjustments tonight.
  9. Hey all! Excited to post some pictures of my new ride here soon. It’s a 1997 VXI HPC RHD. But I’ve got a slight issue… I’ve moved the seat all the way forward, but feel like I can’t fully depress the pedals. I guess at 5’6” I’m a tad on the short side. what’s the recommended adjustments for a shorty like myself to allow full pedal play? Do I change the position between the three center pins? Which screw should I move the accelerator too?
