Can anyone compare it to Limerock? That place has no speakable run-off either.

After 7th Pass w/ M105 spd. 5: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030741.jpg I missed a spot near the tape, but you can see the difference between both sides. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030738.jpg And here is a short video where ~I~ can hear the difference between the polished right side and untouched left side. A little difficult to pick out I suppose. The right side feels very smooth compared to the left: Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010 :: After 7th Pass w/ M105 spd. 5 video by bster13 - Photobucket Lessons learned: - I was way too light on my pressure in the beginning and didn't see any results...then I went to the other extreme and applied way too much such that the pad did not rotate. In the end I added a bit of painters tape to the top of the bad to help me see when the pad was rotating. I cranked the speed on my PC to #5 and applied as much pressure as possible while letting the pad rotate every so slowly. This started to give me results. There are a few deeper random scratches I need to address, but this was a good learning experience. I can definitely tell the difference. Polishing my daily driver on my time schedule is definitely going to be a body panel at a time. :ack:

Based on the advice I received in another thread, I went to work last night. Total time, including taking pics and scratching my head was ~50 minutes. My order got screwed up by the vendor, so Meguiar's 105 was not at my disposal, but from the advice I received a Edge 2000 blue polishing pad (light) and Meguiar's 205 should do the trick. So last night I threw caution to the wind and "practiced" on my 2006 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX SE. I won't bore you with all the passes I took (7 in all), but all pictures and video can be found here: Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010 pictures by bster13 - Photobucket I taped spoiler off, and worked on the right side. You can see the spider webs and ramdon deeper scratches: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030719.jpg I primed the pad like I read on the forums (for each round I primed the pad exactly the same, and eventually all the darker spots filled in on the pad.): http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030722.jpg After 1st Pass w/ M105 spd. 4: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030723.jpg After 2nd Pass w/ M105 Spd. 4: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/Spoiler_detail_6_18_2010/P1030725.jpg

Bruce, unfortunately I believe the rules have changed: http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=95801#p95801 But I am a newb with this stuff... I may be wrong. I'd love some guidance actually. Also... if these rules are correct, what happens if your Pre 2008 engine dies and you replace with a 2010? Are you now under the emission gun? @ Bruce. Are you going to be at the USA7s meetup in NJ Saturday? :party:

Thanks very much!

http://www471.pair.com/stalkerv/gallery2/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemId=1054&g2_serialNumber=2 Looking at other cars with similar mods...I thought it was an aero mod to make the car more slippery. But now I am seeing more pics like above where it seems to just be side impact perhaps? :conehead:

The more I think about this, the more I am thinking of running a brookland style windscreen as opposed to a full on one. Reasons: - less drag - I will be wearing a helmet w/ earplugs 24/7 anyway due to concerns about hearing loss, safety and my bald head. -I will install an intercomm & stereo between my helmet and passengers. -I don't mind a few bugs on my helmet, hehe: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/IMG_0245.jpg

Well it would have to pass emissions for 2003. (In Ct they do it off the engine, not the frame) Is the car emissions compliant? I have considered this manufacturer....mainly because of this website: http://home.earthlink.net/~slomove/index.html great stuff there. What does the car weigh? I am wondering if I want a heater, or just use heated electrical motorcycle clothing like I have in the past. Thx. Dude...I'm already there, believe me. I'm like the pledge who will do most anything to get in the fraternity, but I just haven't been hazed enough yet to get in. :conehead:

LOL... the man has a point. :blush::smilielol5: 648 kilograms = 1 428.59546 pounds

that certainly added aero, but at the expense of weight. "2931 lbs"

The thing about EVOs is that their drivetrain allows them to go from mild to wild, but I would agree... on the tightest of tracks, a prepped Mini may win out. I ~do~ appreciate a nice set of summer tires and the AWD though... it's like cheating.

Can someone confirm the meetup location and perhaps name of gas station?

My favorite road with my Evo IX SE: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/n534371147_1074779_1892.jpg Killboy's EVO VIII armed to the teeth: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/n534371147_1074757_7379.jpg And for a little Lotus content....and exige s I ran with on a little road called "the snake." Free lunch to anyone that can name the route # of that road in TN w/out Googling for it. :willy_nilly:: http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b50/bster13/n534371147_1074807_888.jpg And actually if you speak to Killboy (Darryl) he'll tell you a properly outfitted Mini Cooper S will beat him on the Gap because it is so tight. I'd imagine a Seven would do the same. (and he'd love to drive one!) Killboy is a great guy, always fun to visit with year after year.

Who knows... I am confident with the car, it's suspension and power mods, but perhaps I am in awe of all the youtube videos of various sevens crushing everything in their paths....then again most seven owners aren't going to post up videos of them getting smoked at an HPDE. haha. I'd love to get my EVO down to the Smokey Mountains again and this time bring my future seven replica down and do a test and compare. :drool:

Fair enough, I was assuming the driver was a constant. But my goal on the 19th at the NE meetup in NJ is to get a ride in seven or three, not to be roasted by any. :jester:

Those look the business. Nice!
