  1. Looks like a drain plug to me on my T9 (2010 RS170). Excuse the mess of engine oil blown back there.. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/adamgx50/Caterham/drainplugMedium.jpg
  2. Steve at SBD is very helpful and patient with us MBE users, just another vote for him and the support there.
  3. For future reference, the o-rings are metric, 2-50 (50mm ID, 2mm thick).
  4. Don't worry, found them on Amazon! Viton 033 brings them up!
  5. Martin, thanks. I think it is the 2-033 (2" ID, 1/8" width). Got a link to where I could buy them online by any chance? Thanks. Adam
  6. Does anyone know the correct size/spec for the 4 o-rings used on the single throttle body plenum that seal around the intake ports? Haven't been able to visually size match at the local hardware store, looks like I will need to order some.. Adam
  7. What's going on with the yellow 7? Unfortunately I wont be there to see Andrews next races, I am escorting my 17 year old over to the UK for university interviews.. Hopefully we will all be drinking Caipirinhas after the Lemons races!
  8. I spoke to Jeff last week, he has 3 cars coming over, 1 spoken for. Go pay him a visit! He understands our funny accents. Jim, I just rolled in from MSR, had a few drinks with our friend Larry there.
  9. Welcome. There are a bunch of us down in Houston (I am another ex-pat). There are several 7 racers that we can put you in touch with and several track day guys also. Can't write any more, leaving for the track right now! Adam
  10. I think you have found it! Good thread (over there).
  11. Does anyone know who's 7 this is and what type of 7 it is? I didn't attend the December Coffee and Cars in Houston, but found this picture on the web that someone had posted.. http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/adamgx50/133124_1769329952376_1213020128_32099401_793681_o.jpg
  12. I am switching out my 2.0L head to a 2.3L (from Ford Racing), I'd like to shave a little off the new head to leave me about 10.6 compression ratio. 1 - has anyone done this 2 - how much is needed to be shaved off Also putting in Crower Stage 2 cams and matching springs.
  13. The heater has gone, connecting the two hoses that went to it together is the correct solution, and the home-made cool air intake is in, still need to make a height adjustment and take it out though: http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/adamgx50/Caterham/CIMG1133Medium.jpg
  14. Thanks Paul. I'll give you a call. I have the MBE data cable, I'd like to get an idle log of your car also. Mine has a pretty bad idle and the lamda's are all over the place. Probably easiest after work tomorrow. My wife now has me running errands like crazy, if time frees up I'll call you.
  15. Cool, the R300 right? I just got back in from a quick blat with my wife, her first out through Fulshear, Simonton and Brookshire. She really loved it!
  16. Guys, I want to remove the heater box and hoses from my Caterham. I am pretty sure it is just two hoses, one from the front/intake side that T's to the radiator and back to the heater, and one from the back of the engine that goes to the heater (see pics). The front just looks like I need the appropriate 90 degree 'L' in place of the 'T', the rear I am not sure what the elegant solution would be to cap off the hose. Anyone got before/after pics or plain cases where no heater was ever in their car? Any advise in this? http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/adamgx50/Caterham/CIMG1099aSmall.jpg http://i276.photobucket.com/albums/kk27/adamgx50/Caterham/CIMG1100aSmall.jpg Thanks, Adam
  17. Please post the sizes/offsets and tire sizes you are using. I am thinking about a set Barnby wheels.
  18. Here is what I found out. What comes on the car as part of the engine ancilliary package is a UFI 2311800, these were I think first available on some Renault models and as much as I could tell also used on Lotus Europa's. WIX has a cross-referenced stubby filter, 51335. I grabbed a WIX filter that was designated for the 2010 2.0l Focus, and I believe it would have no problem fitting either. So, in about another 300 miles I'll change out the oil and filter and post back here..
  19. Is there an off the shelf autozone type available filter that will work on the Caterhams with Duratec power? Adam
  20. Thanks Brad, that seems to be the way to go for sure. I did that on my old Mustang many years back (The Boss 351).
  21. The pressure gauge on my RS170 looks like a gauge version of an idiot/warning light, either 0 or x psi, nothing in between. Is it likely that the sender on the crate engine is for an idiot light and the gauge could actually be fed with a proper rising signal for pressure? Anyone taken a look at this on the Duratec's?? Do the Zetec cars have the same crappy oil pressure gauge indications too? Cheers, Adam
  22. I'll get it today! Took me longer than I thought to get all the splattered bugs off the car yesterday, I thought these little cars would be quick to clean! I got the loaner harness installed also. Can't wait for the coming weekend!
  23. Almost hit the magic 500 miles today (50 odd short), keeping the revs below 4500rpm is painful!
  24. Clear-bra is top of the list and should happen this week depending on my schedule. Whatever happens with the title I'll post the info on here for fellow Texas residents reference.
  25. Thanks for the comments. Its an eye-catcher for sure. sdca7, guessing your car is the R500 in R&T? Envious!
