  1. I put up a bunch of my pics in the other thread, here are just a few more taken yesterday...warning, not 7 related! Look away!!! http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2219.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2205.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2207.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2220.jpg
  2. Hey guys, Just wanted to say it was an absolute blast meeting you all and getting to spend time around some very impressive machines. Wish I could have had my car there, but ya win some, ya lose some. Still had a great time! Extra huge thanks to S1 Steve driving being my personal guide to the best viewing spots around Lightning Mike, thank you VERY much for the update on the NASCAR Craftsman truck and RV that was burned down on 95. Ken and I passed the wreckage and were absolutely stunned to see that happen. 30 mins from the track and to see something like that was insane. Driving around for two days on a track at 150mph and you're in more danger on the highway, ugh. Glad they are alright. Hope to see some of you again soon before my wife and I head out to Norcal!!! -Ryan
  3. FWIW, I got a ride around in a S1 yesterday at a track event where 9 other Caterhams were present. The S1 was QUITE the car. Absolutely fantastic fit and finish.

  6. Ok sounds good Steve, next time I drive...I charge by the hour. heh Some pics! http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2156-1.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2180.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2194.jpg http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p26/CityGoat/NJMP/IMG_2195.jpg
  7. Awesome day today, Mike you were flying! Great meeting you guys, very much looking forward to tomorrow at Thunderbolt. I'll post up some of the pics I took as well. -Ryan PS - Steve!!! Thanks so much for the grand tour of lightning in a Superformance S1
  8. Looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow! Me and my bud are at the Days In on 56
  9. Hey guys, Me and my buddy Ken with his Boss 302 are heading down this afternoon and likely just winging a place to stay. Looking forward to meeting you all. I'm the one with the mohawk -Ryan
  10. Hey Mike, Trailering can be a hell of a pain and strapping down sometimes really annoying but it gets MUCH easier each and everytime you do it. I'll be at NJMP both days so if you want any tips at all or a hand please don't hesitate to ask the guy with the mohawk My trailer is a 7x12, those ramp doors are tight!
  11. Thanks man. Yep, really looking forward to hanging out with you guys! I've actually decided to sell the project, with moving across the country it's not really something I can swing right now in terms of time, space, resources, dedication...anything haha...so if you guys know anyone at all that may be interested it would be greatly appreciated. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Lotus-Coveland-7-Lotus-7-replica-Miata-drivetrain-50-miles-/270770972753?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item3f0b352851#ht_931wt_1167 http://www.locostusa.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12492
  12. Hey guys, Unfortunately I will have to be dropping out of this track day at NJMP with my 7. She just won't be ready for the track in time and I'm kind of contemplating the bigger picture and ownership right now. I will however still be showing up with my buddy Ken and his Boss 302 that he'll be running in green group. I'll be sure to say hi! -Ryan
  13. Thank you kind sir! Ya know I'm QUITE excited to be going to this track day. Beyond just to experience a new track (2 actually) it is going to be damn awesome to be on track with all these different 7s at the same time and talk with you guys.
  14. Hey guys, Sorry, should have given an update. I decided to go to Dave Deerson at T&Z Auto in South River, NJ. He's the chief tech for NASA racing and after visiting his shop for about 4 hours he without a doubt knows his stuff. I should be dropping the car off early this week to get her all ready for the NJMP track days. Excited to have a managable car lol Thank you all again for the excellent suggestions, it made it hard deciding.
  15. Kit, What is your ride height front and rear as well?
  16. Christ on a crack why do these deals come up when I'm too far off the deep end with my own ride? Best of luck, that is quite the car with a nice history being #00.
  17. Thanks so much guys! I'm pretty torn now, hrmf. I'm between the Radical Motorsports place since they service you guys which is always a good sign...going to the Caterham specific shop down in Delaware...and then there is also T&Z Auto which is Dave Deerson (Chief Tech for NASA NE) who is local. I think I'll take a swing over to the Radical and T&Z shops tomorrow to check them out and talk over what I need done.
  18. I'm looking into a few shops but this might win out...it'd be great to go to a 7 specific shop for the setup. I'll give them a ring! Thank you! Hey Mike, Extremely challenging is the right term alright. 90% of my brain was just trying to keep the car from spinning around on me. One of the spec miata guys jumped in with me and said that the car really needed to be set up properly and that he suspected the corner weights are off as well...so we'll see how she goes after the alignment and all. Tires are brand new Falken RT-615s and held up nicely actually for not being an R compound. I think a lot of it is just going to be working out the suspension correctly, the car only has 45 miles on it and 30 were yesterday at the track.
  19. Hey Tom, seven 7s...perfecto I'm actually hoping to learn a lot from you guys and I opted to have an instructor with me for at least the first session of each day...I've actually been signed off for HPDE3 just that yesterday was my first time ever out with the 7 and it was a nightmare to toss around the track compared to what I'm used to (C5Z06). An input of 2 on a production car gets you an output of 2. An input of 2 on my 7 got me an output of 14. lol Regardless, very excited to try out NJMP and meet up with you guys. Getting a proper alignment asap should get the car more balanced and stable.
  20. Registered!!! Looking forward to another track day with the 7 and meeting you guys! Would love some tips from some of the track rats in this group...I put up a thread asking for suspension alignment shops in the area if anyone has any suggestions that would be greatly appreciated! -Ryan
  21. Cool I'll look into them. I'm actually staying in NJ for the next 2 months so that would be fine too...in fact I'd be willing to make more than a couple hour drive for a very good shop. Anyone know anything about Powerslide Motorsports in Jackson, NJ? Seem to specialize in vintage formula cars...considering them as well.
  22. Is there still room to sign up? I'd like to sign up with my 7 ...and my buddy would likely be signing up as well in a Boss 302. Just sign up through the SCDA1 link?
  23. Hey folks, After a very eye opening first track experience at Lime Rock yesterday with a Lotus 7 replica I built, the car is in dire need of getting properly setup so that it's not such a nightmare to putt around the track. Would anyone be able to recommend a shop that is quite reputable and has experience with setting up alignments for racecars? The suspension is 4 coilovers and all inputs are adjusted through heim joints all around...would also be interested in having the car corner weighted at the same time. Much appreciated! The car was quite the handful and very much different than a production car. -Ryan
  24. Hey guys, Thanks for the warm welcome and chance to park the trailer at your place Bruce. I actually had to bring my 7 to my buddy's shop yesterday after a day at Lime Rock (nothing serious) and looks like I will miss this weekends meet up most likely. On a side note, and I'm going to post this up elsewhere on the site, do you guys have a recommended place for an alignment - preferably from a very experienced race oriented shop? After a very eye opening first track day with this car it needs to be set up properly for the track. -Ryan
  25. Hey guys! I would love to come and make this. Only thing holding me back is a hillclimb in VT I might be participating in that same weekend. If I do go I will need trailer parking space, but will update as time gets a bit closer. -Ryan
