  1. wow loren that's awesome. you certainly were patient with the build! i can't wait to see and hear it.
  2. i was filling up at a gas station and some young girls asked if my car was electric.
  3. roman, the boot cover and console look fantastic! great work!
  4. i experienced that phenomenon myself, only i was quite lucky in that a gas station came into view just as i ran out of fuel. i coasted into the station and only had to push the car about 15 feet to the pump.
  5. Bruce K, thanks for the hard work! i would definitely like a copy. i have pm'ed my email.
  6. Texas World Speedway is in danger and needs your help. From a local news agency: “The College Station City Council will be asked March 27 to approve a $513 million dollar development that will eventually replace the Texas World Speedway. While outside the south city limits, the proposed “Speedway District” is within the extra-territorial jurisdiction. The developer is asking for the creation of a Municipal Utility District (MUD).” Please help save this historic track by signing the petition http://soonerbillz.com/SaveTWS/ and pass the link along.
  7. or how much alike you are. maybe he's your twin, separated at birth.
  8. tom, very interesting that you own both a gt-r and a seven. it's an unusual combination. i had several gt-r's in my run group at cota a while back, and they were amazingly fast. fast on the straights of course, but absurdly fast in the turns given their mass. faster than me in my seven in the turns, which was a bit demoralizing. i like to think that it was at least in part my suspension set up, but i know it was mostly my lack of skill. from all i've read i don't really think the gt-r is where it's at for me in a "stupid" car -- i go more for the visceral experience -- but i say that never having driven one. i'll have to drive one some day.
  9. hey does anyone here have experience with serpent express trailers? http://www.serpentexpress.com/specifications.html i've been looking for a small, lightweight trailer myself, one that could be hauled with a small suv, and these look pretty nice. developed specifically for cobras but look like they would work well for sevens. car plus trailer would weigh less than than 3000 lbs. i've read a number of threads here about trailers, but don't recall seeing this one mentioned.
  10. jim, i'm pretty sure it's usually the mgb rack from flaming river. that's what's on my car.
  11. so, i evidently have a 3.5455 differential. 77mph by gps at ~3500 rpm. calculating by tire size i should be going 79mph with a 3.5455 at 3500 rpm. my car was billed as a 4.44 at sale and i didn't doubt it because the math works out pretty close if a secondary reduction gear is not considered. and i just found out about the secondary reduction gear. no wonder i have been confused. i mean, shifts just don't come up lightning fast in my car like they are described with a 4.44. anyway, i think it's just as well, as i'm happy with my current ratio. a 4.11 might be nice but i'm pretty sure for my purposes a 4.44 would be too short.
