How much heavier could a dry sump system be? 20 - 30 lbs at most? I know it depends on the number of pumps that you have installed in the loop. I've tried to upload a picture of how I understand a dry sump to work but I can't access that part of the site... anyway, here is how I see it working: Reservoir ---> Pump 1 ---> Manifold ---> Engine Block ---> Pump 2 ---> Reservoir This is probably due to my inexperience with engines, but does this require a manifold type setup so that you run oil to all of the different points of the block or is there just a single access point somwhere and the oil passageways determine where the oil goes, like this? Reservoir ---> Pump 1 ---> Engine Block ---> Pump 2 ---> Reservoir Edit: In this case the "manifold" just refers to a way to take in one supply line of oil and have multiple out lines to the engine block.

For any of you that have dry sumpped an engine... how difficult is it? Does it require totally revamping how the engine lubrication system works? I'm interested in making an engine dry sumpped, just because, but I don't want to go over my head. If any of you have pictures and you don't mind, I would appreciate getting to see how the system is all linked together. Thanks in advance! Beags

Wonderful! I'm actually doing some go-kart racing for my birthday in a couple weeks at PBIR (Aug 14th - 15th). They are having a hot rod/car show on Sunday the 15th and I might be sticking around to see that. Anybody planning to visit or appear in the show? I have some family in Pt. There's nothing wrong with either kit. In fact the stalker has been the scariest car i've ridden in to day. I haven't been able to see the MK yet, but I'm looking forward to getting to see one. I was just wondering if there was anybody else in the central Florida area. I'm leaning toward a kit at the moment, but I'm not opposed to a scratch build.

Hey all, I was just wondering if there was anybody around the central Florida area that has built or is building a seven. I've been digging around for the past 18 months and have only been able to find 2 people. Both great guys, but both are 2 hours away from me and in opposite directions. Obviously I don't get to stop by that often. Dennis Brunton (http://www.bruntonauto.com) and Alan (http://www.smartsportscars.com) are the two gents that I have met. Both are top class and very helpful. Is there an event somewhere in FL where 7s show up? Looked into going to some of the scca and nasa meets to see if there are any autocrossing, but haven't been able to find the time to get out to Orlando or Tampa lately. Lastly, is there any way to satisfy this 7 bug? I would have thought it would have passed by now but I keep wanting to park my car outside so that I can have room to start build. Specifically engine builds.... I love a shiney lump..... Beags

http://www.motusmotorcycles.com Has anyone seen their new KMV4 engine? I think this thing is fairly brand new. Checking their website its a 4 cyl engine based off of GM pushrods and direct gasoline injection technology. Beautiful looking and sounding engine, watch the video on their home page and listen to it running on the dyno at the end.... sounds crazy. I'm curious to see what the torque and power curve looks like. I've emailed them asking for more details, specifically $$$$, but haven't heard back yet.

Dennis sounds like he is bordering on the insane (which I have NO problem with, I met him a few months ago and he was very approachable and helpful) by dropping a LSx into a stalker. I have ridden in the "regular" stalker with the L67 and it frankly scared me in a wonderful way. My whole body was twitching when I got out. I couldn't imagine almost twice the power...... crap, I just left a puddle of drool on my desk. Does Dennis belong to this forum? Edit: I wait for the day that somebody uses Ford's Coyote 5.0. I've seen a few build diaries online where guys have dropped the older 5.0 from the fox body mustangs into their 7. All this engine talk makes me giddy.....

At work I use a fairly antiquated language called Appx, based off of Speed2. I have also done some VB and .net applications as well. Trying to teach myself web development as I think the industry will be heading in the web based direction relatively soon.

Hello all, My name is Andy, I'm a software developer by trade and a fledgeling gear head. I was introduced to sevens about 2 years ago looking for engines to rebuild. I had been wanting to learn how to rebuild an engine and started with the air cooled vw engines of yesteryear since they are fairly simple and easy to come by. This lead to rail buggies which in turn lead to kit cars and finally SEVENS! I was awestruck immediately. It's been a love affair since then. I've read Ron Champions Haynes roadster book and hope to build my own some day. I apologize if I ask any "novice" questions but I love to hear people opinions and whatnot.
