  1. got back about 2 hours ago. Mostly cosmetic. The MeOtter will likely match the 7 in color scheme now that the oppurtunity presents itself. One of the other neighbors was a big help in getting going again in a hurry long before AAA could arrive. Mike and stuart stayed around kibbitzed w/ one of the adjacent homeowners while we wait and futzed about trying to get underway by our own ideas. We they bee lined back for NJ/NY w/ Stuart keeping an eye on me from behind in case any further problems manifested themselves.

  2. a rear diffuser works if the air coming off the top of the backside is directed properly as well. that's pretty difficult with the typical shaped se7en and its rollbar. Since u have an Ultralight presumably, check w/ Loren and Kevin to see if they have used any underside aero in addition to the parkbench spoilers that is currently on Mojito for high speed stability.

I too am thinking about a rear lower diffuser, but i know a need a work around for the upper airflow to see any tangible benefit beside lightening my wallet.

  3. I suspect that the auto-x folks assumed my Lotus badged Caterham was a Lotus (who can really tell?) and I snuck off with someone else's award(:.

Box, any idea if my rather pathetic showing in the auto-x was actually fastest for all 7's, Caterhams included?

    Mike

Norm B's 2nd and last run was 27.5. Mike D's 2nd run was his fastest @ 29.4. Scott had a 28.5 on his final run in Mike's 7. DAnny never took his 7 off the trailer. The Lotus 7 series 2 w/ the AP markings ran a 31.1. Dean is marked w/ a few 34 second runs after his initial 36.

Mooney mooney Mooney. 3 off courses:toetap05: with the extra ballast u did find a 30.3.

The MeOtter found a clean 31.5 finally. I ran a 32.3 in the Exige that i broke teh battery tie down in that died and coasted the last couple gates.:smash:

Chuck Sieber's EMod Espirit was at a 28.3 on its 3rd and final run.

A couple of Elises got into low 30.x. The fastest was a 30 flat.

The Yellow Europe pulled a 30.6. The fastest Exige was a 31.4, there weren't many, and the rest were not fast.

  4. I beleive Gert's (annual) endeavor is defintely worthy of attendance. For a national meet in 2011 this would be my choice. Revisiting all the discusions post 7-7-7, I still think Arkansas is the most central and most representative of what occured at TotD. For teh most part USA7s particpants want to drive their cars. That spirit is what I want a USA7s event seperate itself from any other national car meet.

Maybe set 2012 and the 55th aniversary as a goal.

More low key, more high milage!

And this should not be se7ens only. That notion should die. We have more in common than what we drive. It may be why we drive se7ens. We find them and teh trip exciting. I will not exclude anyone who does not have a se7en, Lotus, or any other make/model. If they enjoy driving and/or teh moment, then I think they should be welcomed. lets be enthusiasts and enthusiastic. If there is anyone who is perspective se7en owner, then such a national meet should be their destination for that year!

  5. I had a great time at the autocross! I had one big slide and expected to be the only one to do a loop at the event. The Seven recovered! Wow!

I never used the brakes just lifted. When I lifted while initiating the turn the car started to rotate. I could then turn with my right foot.

Impressive number of Se7ens at the autocross.

    Did anyone record the times?

i took a picture of the board. i know Norm threw the board in the back of the truck. I never go to congratulate u on finishing the rebuild of your 7, let alone anyone fo the effort to stage LOG 30, so thank you on both. Especially a Lotus that seemed run hiccup free. I know your time was similiar to mine, ~31.5. Even with the slim tyres, your 7 moved so gracefully.

  6. Norm Beaver's Caterham has metal strips attached to the bottom of teh front lip of the fender. I didn't notice them a few years ago, but checked for some reason at the LOG concours. I think this was a great solution as its not visible and the fenders seem to have no spider cracks.
