  1. So, on the trip back from upstate, and sitting at the bridge crossing for 45 minutes, my turn signals stop working. So I do the correct Caterham procedure and check the hazard switch position. flip it a few times, then go back to the turn signal switch.

    Still nothing.:cuss:

Checked the fuses yesterday. All looked good. one looked a little corroded, but that would cause it to actually blow sooner, right? So i'm thhink its a relay?

does this logic make sense and has anyone seen this problem before?

  2. my 7 is still docile and i was able to hear the GPS over teh headphones paying the radio from my phone. when my induction or exhaust changes, that will not be possible. If u feel it necessary, simply go the bike route and use Autocom and compitable equipment.

  3. the spec'd filter for the zetec in a Fukkus is too tall to fit in a 7 SV, so I had to match the filter product number to find out what car it was actually meant for. It turned out my filter also worked on older v6 camrys. I suggest u try that or buy a duratec filter first and see if it actually can fit enough to slide onto the port before doing teh oil change.

  4. some color change. noaa or weather/accuweather.com should be able to give historic and average temperature ranges. I would expect overnight lows in the upper 40s/low 50s, day highs upper 50s->60s. some variation, but fall would have just started.

  5. I made a rack for my Birkin, I take the wheel carrier off and then replace it with a mount that I made that bolts to the same holes the rack then sits on 2 pins and bolts to the back panel where the wheel bracket mounts. this means I can then remove it when I have arrived where we are going.

what would be cool if v2 was fabbed so it could be used as a luggage cart and had small wheels on the bottom. just unhook from the car and roll into the hotel.

  6. i opted for the staurday and sunday dinners. during the day i'll forage for myself. need a half amish, half sasquatch outfit. i'll roam roam the countryside and battlefields!

I expect to arrive around noon on Friday.

  7. trailer prices are dirt cheap right now. email quote from a friend from 3 weeks ago:

"My hunting has revealed that south Georgia is

severely depressed due to the economy right now,

and the trailer factories down there are slashing

each other's throats trying to make a sale. Believe

it or not, a brand new 24' basic enclosed car

trailer can be purchased for under $4000 from more

than one company. The only gotcha is that you need

to pick it up in Georgia, because shipping up here

will add $1500 to the cost. I can't even find a

used trailer for that price! Anyway, my thought

was that since I don't have garage space to build

a race car without somebody else moving things

around whenever I turn my back, one of these trailers

would be cheaper than building a second garage,

doesn't require building permits and zoning variances,

and best of all can be towed to events without having

to load/unload my gear and tools every weekend. I

wish that I had thought about it 5 years ago!

Of course, the gotcha is that I don't know if I

can get a decent-sized trailer out of our side

yard and onto the street, since there's a utility

pole and bedrock outcropping both blocking the

way that I'd need to swing the trailer to get it

back out. This is one of the reasons why I wanted

to rent an open U-Haul car carrier for 7/24, so that

I can see if I can figure out what size enclosed

trailer will fit in that spot....."

  8. What I want to know regarding the driver's meeting and trackday is the schedule of the trackday. when is (IF, this is LOG....) Tech, when are the run groups start.

I'm prepared to leave the hotel in a caravan to to the track the same way that 7-7-07 had the caravan to the autoX in Maryville if we're checking out ~7AM.

Otherwise, it makes sense to be closer to teh track to be on premises @ 7:45. I'll probably head home after the event. But it would make me more inclined to be around early friday for some USA7s stuff.
