You want to leave it in closed loop , watch the STFT1 and that will tell you how much to change your fueling by and the MAP will tell you where , I can show you all this ,I need to confirm dates for Dec Tom

How will he know if " You have a working map so use that ignition timing, " that Timing Table is safe and he has no Spk Knock / Detonition ? What works on one engine rarely is safe for another , If he was on a Dyno he could check the timing by what the engine wants , I have tested many of those apps and there is no way I would trust my Engine to them , The Fueling is easy you want 12.8 WOT A/F a good A/F Guage will show this , I like the AEM 30-4110 cheap , easy to use Tom

Any ECU will need Dyno Time for Tuning and to Adj the cam gears , Unlike the stock ECU most guys running standalone dont have a working knock sensor so its very hard to set the timing by remote Tuning with out one Tom

If you have the Software so you can link to it and have the correct Cables I dont see why you would need to change it Tom

I can build you a Zetec you would be happy with , You will need to Dyno to adjust the Cam gears and Tuning for it If its in the Budget I have a Ford Racing head new in the box its full CNC Ported , I would do a set of STG2-3 Cams and Compression at about 10.0 to 10.5 for 93 Octane Tom

Disables with Adj Cam gears ? The Zetec ITB you have will bolt up to the SVT Head but the runners dont line up properly I would go to a Focus headed Zetec the cam choices are much better and you get rid of the VCT , ITB will bolt right up The SVT isnt really a better option the Performance gain for the SVT came from the higher compression 10.2 vs 9.6 on thr Zetec , the SVT has much larger Cams , closer to stg2 or 3 Zetec and the SVT header alone was a 12whp gain , you can do the same with a Zetec , I have done it many times Tom

The 2.3 would be a good option , a great Option would be the 2.5 Duratec 4 Cyl from the Fusion if its TQ and HP your looking for
