  1. I have the higher FIA roll bar on a road car and am looking at options for a brake light up high on the roll bar. In the middle of the top of the roll bar are two holes but they pass right through the bar and are used (presumably) for a strut. I can't see any way of getting the wiring inside the bar without drilling it, and that is likely to be a problem for any FIA inspection (even if that's an unlikely future for this car). Does anyone have any experience of a neat solution?
  2. There is a joke in there somewhere
  3. Some pretty mixed reviews online of this stuff. The cans seem to be very varied in quality. Might always be user error of course.
  4. I will shortly (or is it eventually, sigh) take delivery of a CSR260. I am looking for a set of spare rims with or without tyres. Thanks,
  5. I have fished around on the site and there's some discussion on this topic but just ahead of a purchase I thought I'd ask for updated advice. On the topic of jacking up a CSR, with lowered floors, and then jack stands. What success have you had with a low profile jack? I see the Harbor Freight and Craftsman ones and I guess you get what you pay for. But in terms of the height of the thing. They say they are 3 1/2 inches. Is that low enough? Is there anything lower? And as for jacks themselves, what about the flat topped ones with like a hockey puck surface on them. They look appealing for putting them under a flat floor. I'm wondering if the jacks I have which has a U shape to go under and axle will be a problem on a flat floor? Thanks
  6. Can someone share if a standard CSR260 with the factory fitted sump guard (if such a thing exists) has a ground clearance problem on "normal" roads? The thing is shortly in build and it would be easier to do it then. I'm depressed if I need it but would rather find it out now than after the build, and certainly after leaving an oil/alloy trail down a modestly bumpy road.
  7. Ooops, note to self. It's a CSR260. Stock with usual trimmings.
  8. These tilt trailers look great. I have a CSR to move around and the videos make it look so neat. Anyone had any experience with them? They're a fair bit more expensive than regular kit. And the shortest I have found is 16' when really I'd prefer 14'. Second question pls. Anyone with an open trailer had any experience with stone guards? Are they necessary? Thanks for the help here.
  9. Did you have a good experience with tillet? I just ordered mine.
  10. I just found out, sigh, that my Range Rover does not have a brake controller for trailer electric brakes. I guess you get what you pay for. I did some web research and it seems there are aftermarket options that can be fitted. Anyone had any experience of these things? Seems odd to me that the car is rated to tow 7000lbs but you might do that without brakes. If I get a 14' trailer, plus the car its going to be 'only' 2000lbs or so. But still a lot of unbraked weight to add to an already heavy car if it needs to stop quickly.
  11. Thank you Ian. Have you had any luck with any other brands?
  12. My CSR is finally on its way and in May (I hope) I will be taking it through the registration process here in Connecticut. I have spent some time on the Connecticut DMV site so know he theory. My question is, has anyone actually taken a Caterham through the CT DMV process? And if so, can I trouble you for some practical advice. Thanks,
  13. Finally the CSR is on its way and I will need to trailer it to the DMV in Connecticut (subject of a different post). I went to uHaul at the weekend to check out their options and the only one seems to be a very large, and very heavy, trailer. The thing weighs twice what the car does. So I get to thinking, since I'm going to trailering it to as many track days as get run in this area, I may as well buy something more suitable. I am thinking of a 14', twin axle, open. Welcome advice on brands that anyone has had success with. Or if anyone has had one made. Thanks.
  14. Um...don't do what?
  15. Decisions, decisions. 6 speed vs sequential in a CSR260. Love the sequential box in my SR3, and in the Ginetta, but that's full time track. This will be sunny days in the back country and track days. How loud is it? Do you really need to be at full chat to shift up or it baulks? Could become tiresome. Is it a Quaife box? Does it come with a reverse? All opinions from those who've experienced it are very, very welcome. Thanks
  16. Sorry to bother you but is the SV still for sale? Steve
