  1. I think those are all timing belt tensioners...what I need is the tensioner for the serpentine belt that was taken off the motor when the worthless sheet metal bracket was installed by the importer/builder. When I Google the part# I get a lot of junk hits for overseas manufacturers...most of which probably don't exist.
  2. send me your email...I finally have a picture of my car.

  3. I am converting my Zetec over to the Mid-Atlantic Serpentine belt kit and need the original tensioner...Ford # 97BB6A228AG. Does anyone have one in your garage...that you would like to sell? Mike
  4. It just amazes me the time some of you guys have to work on your cars and the quality of the workmanship...nothing succeeds like excess. Unreal.
  5. I am getting ready to install the mid Atlantic belt kit on my Zetec Birkin...the picture of the tensioner on the Mid Atlantic website loks different from the one on the Ford dealers website...does anyone have the part number of the stock ford tensioner?
  6. Cars and Coffee Saturday morning 8-10 at the Starbucks at Cantrell and Sam Peck Rd in Little Rock.
  7. My office building is carpeted with carpet squares with a rubber backing. I got a couple of extras and cuts mats to fit the Birkin. It only took a few minutes...they are fairy stiff and will not move when you are getting in or out.
  8. The wife has ok'ed a family trip to Pebble Beach in August. A friend and his wife are going also. I have noticed that several of you seem to be regular visitors. I assume that lodging is an issue. We are leaning toward maybe a day at the concours and two days at the races. Any thoughts as far as lodging or any other things to do or see?
  9. Using a mirror I was able to find 2 relays hidden under the dash ... I have new ones but haven't had a chance to try them...this should take car of the problem. I appreciate the help.
  10. The DIP relay seems to be bad...it's a VW- AUDI part...If I am lucky Autozone will have one.
  11. This is starting to make sense...the must be a relay somewhere that has failed thereby killing the fuse block...in the fuse panel there is not a fuel pump relay. Not sure why the line from the fuse box to the fuel pump was dead.
  12. That's the problem...the wire from the fuse box to to the fuel pump showed a break somewhere in the wire loom...and the fuse block was dead. It doesn't make sense that there were two failures. Does the ECU switch off the fuel pump at the fuse block? If so why is the block dead when the key is on...every other fuse block was hot.
  13. After thinking about this problem...it does not seem that the fuel pump lead wire AND the fuel pump fuse block would go bad at the same time...Is there a relay that turns off the fuel pump when pressure is built up at the fuel regulator? We have the Birkin diagram but do not see a relay. The fuel pump always ran for a few seconds at startup...built pressure and switched off...does not shut off now. It might be the fuel pressure regulator but that would not explain the dead fuse block. Any thoughts?
  14. My electrician tracked the problem down to a broken wire between the pump and the fuse block...and the fuel pump fuse block was dead. We reran the wire and used a spare fuse block. The car starts and runs...the fuel pump seems to keep running. A drive in the morning will be the test.
  15. My noise is constant...I think my problem is a poorly designed kit that warps and keeps the belts out of alignment. To reduce the noise I have to loosen the belt so much that I am afraid it will come off.
  16. xcarguy We did speak in late 2011 when I was looking for a car...I bought #2061 from Mr Goss in northern California. It's been a lot of fun but is having fuel pump issues at the present. How are things in El Dorado...it's my hometown but I share your dislike...
  17. I think that I have the only other Seven in Arkansas...2003 Birkin. Located in Little Rock.
  18. I spoke too soon...after the car sat all week on the Battery Tender...no sound from the fuel pump and no start. I checked the fuse and relay. Any thoughts?
  19. I bought the Mid-Atlantic kit...I am missing the cast bracket that the pulley bolts to and the tensioner ...No luck at the junkyards...is there any way to determine what year my motor is...Ford may have the parts but it's hard to tell the correct parts. My Zetec has the yellow plastic valve cover.
  20. Since I may not drive for a week or two in the winter...I keep it plugged up to a Battery Tender while it's parked...Could the battery been so low it would not run the pump...or was it the ECU not working that kept the pump from running?
  21. Strange....after 4 hours on the Battery Tender...the fuel pump ran...I did not try to start it as it would have terrified the tenants in the apartment above the garage. This morning it started first turn...I have an Odyessy PC935 battery...could it be that I flooded the car and then ran the battery low trying to restart it....the battery got weak but was not having any trouble turning over the motor. The battery is abut 2 years old.
  22. Out driving this afternoon....stopped for a 15-20 minutes and the Birkin would not start...I thought it was flooded at first but there was no gas smell...gas tank was full...It looks like the fuel pump is beside the the left rear wheel with a filter attached. I sometimes hear the pump run when I start the motor... no sound now. The car has a yellow top Zetec with Raceline throttle bodies. The fuel pump fuse is ok. Any other ideas before I replace the pump? If replacement is the answer any suggestions for a fuel pump?
  23. I grew up in El Do-nowhere also...Lots of Pine trees and lots of deer. I never have to go back...
  24. I have only had my Birkin for a year...I drove it for a week last spring when we were short a car...as a daily driver it would be lacking. I live in Arkansas where we have hot summers and moderate winters...in cool weather and with Birkini top and doors it's pretty comfortable...My Birkini top has J shaped zippers so it's easy to get in and out...my top is in the shop for the same treatment...not waterproof but it works for those days where it might rain.
