Surfmonkey
Wheels: I am thinking about replacing the frt and rear 17x7 wheels on my WCM Ultralite. Current offset on these stock wheels are 40 frt and rear. The always talented Jim Rankin suggested I get 17x8 Frt and 17x9 R wheels. My question is what should be the recommend offset for these sized wheels? Tires: I have 215x45x17 wheels front and rear. How does 225x45x17 frt and 245x40x17 seem appropriate for easy canyon carving? And what tire does the 7 group recommend? I have Nittos on my P car and the side walls are just to stiff for a 2000lb car. I am looking at a UTQG rating softness of 140 to 180. Any thoughts would be welcomed. WestTexasS2K
YOU could use 17x8 all around if you want to run 22 and 245 on the rear. If you go with a 275 on the rear then you can use the 9 inch. Usually 35-38 MM offset works well.

Mondo
I'm running 17x8 & 17X9 (offset 35mm in front & 43mm rear. Tires are 225/45 & 275/40. It's probably more show than go but I like flush filled out fenders. I don't know if my axle width is any wider/narrower due to the STI vs WRX rear end. I'm going to go small tires soon, they take a long time to warm up and I'm sure lighter would be better. Edited July 8, 2015 by Mondo
