Looking for Birkin Super Stalker bellhousing and engine accessory information

Recommended Posts

Greetings:

We are building a car to race in 24 Hours Of Lemons. It is a 1990 Mazda Miata. We are swapping in a supercharged 3.8 with T5 transmission, a la the Brunton Super Stalker. As from GM, the bell housing for the T5 holds the transmission at a 17° angle. I know that one can specify a different bell housing that holds the T5 directly upright. Does anyone have any information on that?

Also, I'm looking for information on how the alternator is mounted in the super stalker. I have no need for the power steering nor air-conditioning accessories, and need to figure out how to mount the alternator on the serpentine system. I've looked around on the Internet and haven't really come up with much so far.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! This is quite helpful. Do you have the part # for the grooved alternator tensioner pulley that Brunton calls for? The Denso alternator? And the alternator belt?

Here are a couple of leads for the pulley (90mm):

I don't have the part numbers handy, but if I recall (been a few years), the alternator was a mini 70amp from NAPA (Geo Metro?); see photos below of my atlernator and pully that I took jsut after purchase.

As for the belt/s, look at the photo below to see my belt routing. An easy way to determine what size/s you need is to trace the route across the pulleys with a string and then measure the lenth of string.
