116E engine valve clearance and timing

Looking to find out where the timing marks are for the 116E to fine tune the timing. Had engine rebuilt, but do not know where the marks may be.

Also, any guidance on valve clearances would be greatly appreciated.

If you have the 116E front cover, this should be of some help:

Otherwise, I think most of the later (i.e. crossflow) front covers have the timing written on the cover.

 

Valve clearances will depend on a lot of variables (cam, valves, piston to valve clearance, etc) and you should contact your engine builder if you do not know.
